Cheap tickets for Tokyo in May?

3 posts in this topic

The Kyokai is planning on selling very cheap tickets for the Natsu basho to coincide with the opening of the tallest building in Japan, the Skytree, 634 meters high which is in Sumida ward, where the KKan is. The price, you ask? 634 yen, of course, for some seats. It's a plan for now, but it seems to be close to be decided.

Presumably Row 12 on weekdays? All the same it's a neat idea.

I'm still debating whether to get (ever again) the 15-day pack of unreserved seats -- if I can't spend weekday mornings, opening time till 10:00, in my favorite west/front masuseki downstairs. That's where, for years, I have been getting front-row photos of shin-deshi, plus new jonai-hoso gyoji.

The Kyokai is still winning some new ones and losing the old-time regulars.

Well, the 634 yen Skytree tickets (B seats, usually 4900 yen) went on sale yesterday morning at 10 am..

Sold out in five minutes.
