Maegashira game Hatsu Basho 2012

Recommended Posts

Hi friends,

the game went on.

please give up your picks for day one.

Each player more makes the game more attractive.

BTW, look at the banzuke and you'll find out: We have a Woman as Yokozuna!

Congratulations, Hana-ichi!

Here you can give up your picks.

Attention!!

There is a bug in the torikumi grabbing for day 2. (entry site).

To this time you can't pick all 13 maegashira-maegashira-bouts, but only 10.

If you later see more bouts listed as now, you should look and perhaps correct your pick!

The other bug Ifound after today's result calculation (missing some bouts of today) isn't as bad as this one.

The calculated results for day 1 are correct.

Working on it ... general problem ... know what it is ... will be fixed in a couple hours as there's a lot of jumping through hoops to do to get everything right for all the games. Need food too.

In the current bug Kaisei has a busy day... he has to fight everyone in each match as he's the only one listed on the east... (In a state of confusion...)

I have to get my shower and breakfast to head to the kokugikan... I should pick Kaisei for 3 matches.. LOL I've taken a photo of the screen saver to email to him.. he'll get a kick out of it! (Applauding...)

Sorry Kotoviki but while fixing the bug I temporarily created another. Maegashira Game will work correctly now for Day 2 and Day 1 was not affected by the bug.

Now it is time to say something about the results!

Man of the day is Leonishiki.

He has forgotten his former defensive tactics, to vote only for safe favorites, picked this time with some risk - and had luck. I hope for him to have more such luck.

Other good results brought Mischashimaru (yesterdays 56 points make him to the favorite for the Shukun Sho ranking) and Rikishimiezi, who today had only 10 points.

Yesterdays bug, that many players not could pick all their maegashira guys, was not as bad as they thaught. Because it long time was not possible to pick them, too other players could not pick them and so these picks had not brought much points. Good, them not to pick.

Once more it's time for some words about the results.

Now leads Mischashimaru before Rikishimiezi, Leonishiki and Hana-ichi.

Mischashimaru dominates too all three Sansho rankings, the GinoSho together with Gaijingai and Rikishimieezi

Many other days have some good daily results, but then they lose points with bad picks.

For instance look at me with three zero picks in 6 days.

Let's hope for the continuous run of the game, when the great constructor goes.

Bob, I fear for the time after you are gone.

You shouldn't fear, everything about the game is automatic. I'm sure Doitsuyama will be making some slight modifications to my results grabber to make recovering from server outages easier (actually much of the data is already tied to the Sumo Reference and it wouldn't take much to hook up the rest). Doitsuyama has agreed to take over the care of the server and to update the older games. He is already in contact with our host.

Some result informations:

Mischashimaru could enlarge his lead to now 35 points.

Rikishimiezi failt with a zero number and Leonishiki and Hana-ichi had too no much points.

Between them stays now Ruziklao with his daily best result of 37.

Besides of Ruziklao had this result of 37 too Ganzohnesushi, Hashopitsuumi and Oskanohana.

Until yesterday Mischashimaru could hold his lead, but with his today's zero pick he went to a safe second place in the total ranking.

Our new leader is the Slovakian player (living in USA?) Ruziklao, who has had last days continuous respectable results and now stays three points before Mischa.

Them follows 40 points behind a quartet with Leonishiki, Packamawashi, Pitinosato and Rikishimiezi, while Yokozunette Hana-ichi with not so good results fell back to place 8.

The writer of this posting, Profomisakari had today his 5th zero pick on 10 days.

Let's have a look to the Sansho rankings!

here leads Mischashimaru in the Shukun Sho ranking, while Ruziklao has the best result for the kanto Sho and Pitinosato stays on the top for the Gino Sho.

Where did the idea of USA come from? :)

Anyway, I will try do my best in the third third of the basho.

I know Bratislava as a good place.

Dear friends,

there are some unknown problems with some games, so too with Maegashira game.

And now, as I'm ready, Doitsuyama has found bug and had him corrected.

The results are to find in the game site and show some small differences to my handcalculation.

Computers are the better people.

But I should not delete this my results posting.

And there is a problem with the results of day 12. Propably the same as in chain-gang?

http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=29157

Heikotoriki

Yes, it's the same problem as in chaingang. I corrected it here too, but the results are not done automagically like in chaingang, they have to be calculated by another procedure. I hope they are correct now and would be thankful if someone could check them.

The game is over. It was a good one (but not really for me!)

The daily best on Senshuraku is Jakusotsu with the today maximally possible result of 43 points., what him brought over the 200 points line. But under the good participation of 45 players these 219 points only guarantee place 21.

In this basho we had many players , who in the past only middle or bad places and now did a very good game.

Among them is too the great winner Mischashimaru, who had in the past only a few good, but never the great results. Today he allowed himwself his second zero result in the basho, but he had a lead of 40 points and so had the strongest pursuer Ruziklao (from Bratislava; as I now know) and the next in the table Packamawashi, Pitinosato, Heikotoriki, Rikishimiezi, her husband Tainosen and Ganzohnesushi no real chance to beat him.

Mischashimaru won the Shukun Sho, Ruziklao the Kanto and Gaijingai the Gino Sho.

With the Basho result calculates the game automatic too the new ranking. We call it "Banztuke", but strictly speaking this is no Banzuke, but a ranking using the vocabulary of a banzuke.

And we find as our new Yokozune the same lady as last basho: Hana-ichi, the young lady from R
