This idea has been kicked around for at least 10 years but was always dismissed as "not of interest", so nobody got around to actually trying to implement it. I once planned a meta-benchsumo game but I did not find time to launch it. I was hoping someone else might pick up the idea. I think Shiyonofuji/Kaiopectate also proposed something similar. Maybe there were others before us as Kintamayama suggests. I'm just glad to have a chance to try the game and I'm pleased to see the level of interest. Good luck with it! One more thing, and I don't want to write this in the Kofuji intai thread as it would not be appropriate...regarding Fujisan's request to change the name of this game in honour of Kofuji, obviously I'd do that if that's what people want, but my sense is that a crappy little game like this is not worthy of the great man, so I'd suggest something else. Perhaps a new Bench Sumo prize named after him for the most amusing daily comment as nominated by other players in a dedicated thread or something like that and decided by a different person each basho on a rota system, something happier. That would have the added advantage of giving people an incentive to say something funny! Or whatever. All that said, I'm still holding out hope for some kind of miracle (not in the religious sense).
