Maegashira game is back and goes correct

Recommended Posts

For all Maegashira game players:

The game is repaired and all features work now correct.

In the first days Kofuji's automatic didn't find all maegashira bout for the entry torikumi (because some rikishi couldn't seen as maegashira (look here!).

But because nobody could pick the Fighters of these bouts, I think there is no problem. All players had the same possiblities and the same problems.

So I think we can the game this basho full count for the total ranking.

Only one exception we should allow: All players who not participated, should get the kosho status.

What do you think?

I had asked a question, but got no answer.

So I think we have all the same point of view and should do so.

But as first let me resume the most important results of our Maegashira game Nagoya 2011!

The first days the game suffered from some mistakes in the data basis.

There were on this days some bouts missed in the bout list of the entry site, which couldn't be voted.

But this was for all players the same problem. so we had all the same chances.

As Bob came back, he repaired this, but since this time we have to new bugs.

In the result ==> Basho site we are since this time missing the selection statistics "for" and "aigainst".

I have every day before Makuuchi bouts counted this votes and published in the Comment window in the daily results site. So everybody could calculate his points and these of his competitors during the basho from bout to bout.

But the results, calculated from the automatic daily after the last bouts, are very correct. this means the missed data are all existent in the data basis, only the automatic is - whatever the reason may be - not able to publish them into the both sites.

I think if Bob has some time for this, he can repair this too.

So we have this time only 36 participasnts, but a very interesting game with good results.

You all can find the results here, but let me publish a small summary of the most important results:

and the Gino Sho to Anjoboshi for 0 - 3 - 8 - 4 (this are 31 correct of 45 picks).

Hi, Ruzi-san,

didn't you know, this is the new kind of mathematics, developed especially for the maegashira game.

The most important new rule is: 149 + 30 = 197

But if you like to win the game with the traditional scoring methods, look at the meanwhile changed site!

Once more congratulations!

There is a mistake somewhere on the day 15 results...

Indeed, for the bfollowing bout : Tochiozan. . 2 2 Kitataiki. .

people who chose Tochiozan shold have gotten 2 points of bonus, but received 4 points instead !

As a result, Anjoboshi may have in fact only 215 points as a final score on Day 15, (and I would be tie with him for 3rd place...)

(Holiday feeling...)

Hi Mysko,

indeed , there is a mistake.

But not in the results calculation of Kofujis automatic, but in the selection quotas, that I published in the comment window of Result==> daily.

These quotas were daily counted by Profomisakari and written into the comment window before the makuuchi bouts took place, because they not were made visible in the bouts table on the same site.

But excuse me please, this bout I've false counted, it must be 2 - 4 instead of 2 - 2.

I made a mistake, but Bob's program made all correct.

BTW, some minutes ago I corrected this table.

Look at the table of all players picks on the same site - and you can see: There are 4 votes for Kitataiki against Tochiozan, voted by Achiyama, Pandaazuma, Kuroimori and Kintamayama. These 4 points gets Anjoboshi.

It's a pity for you, but Anjoboshi has his 217 points correct. (First prize...)

But your 4th place is too a great result. (First prize...)

BTW: This is the proof, that Bobs program counts correct, holds the counted data correct and calculated the results correct - but doesn't find the right counted, calculated and saved data for the selection tables. It cannot be a very strong error.

Forgot to recreate the job that sets the selection stats after the deadline to the new server. I've run it now to catch up. Will move the job for next basho.

Yes, 4th place is a very good one of course, and I am plainly happy with it...

But I am mostly happy that you took time to answer my question.

I just don't like when I don't understand things : you made it very clear : Thanks !

(Welcome...)
