Hakuhou caught with pants on

Recommended Posts

Yokozuna Hakuhou was sternly reprimanded after being seen in public a few days ago wearing a t-shirt and hot pants in a "business district", it was reported in a weekly today . He was caught on camera "embracing a woman" in the early hours of that day, according to the weekly. His Oyakata was summoned to the Rijicho's quarters and was warned about it. "There are no circumstances under which he can be seen like that. This is outrageous!" thundered Education Manager Nishonoseki Oyakata. Maegashira Takekaze, who was with him at the time wearing the same uniform, was warned for the same reason. Hakuhou, BTW, left for Mongolia on the 23rd and is expected back on the 28th.

Hakuhou drinking beer at the senshuraku party hours before clinging on to a woman in public in inappropriate attire:

SNIP

Can I assume that this "business district" may have been in a kabukicho-type area?

But seriously, there they go again. They drove one Mongolian yokozuna who broke records out of sumo, and now, they (the yellow press AND some on the elder sumo-side?) are beginning the campaign to oust the most Japanese foreign yokozuna they've had yet? And, of course, the powers that be just take for granted that the reports are true. "Caught on camera"? Where's the picture? Having been "involved" in one of the Asa scandals myself, I can just imagine what these guys are cooking up now.

Picture is apparently real, as it will be made public on a few weeklies, if that hasn't happened yet..

Hakuhou apologized and said "I will be more careful in the future." Who was the lady in the picture? "She is a friend of my student sister."

Hakuhou apologized and said "I will be more careful in the future."

Now, I have to say that this sort of comment, made by Hak or Baruto or whomever, absolutely blows my mind.

He's caught wearing pants and a t-shirt, and he says, "I'll be more careful"?? Really?

What happened when he was getting dressed? Was he attacked by his wardrobe? Did his pants sneak up on him from behind? Did the shirt threaten to strangle him? Did he make an attempt to dodge the in-coming outlawed vestments? Was he so careless that he lost the rest of his clothes, a la Kind Richard of England (or whoever it was that took his stuff to the Wash and never got it back)?

How? How can you apologize and say you'll be more "careful" in this case? Who dresses this guy? Do they prep him up when he's sleeping?

Doesn't this guy know what he's wearing? He's a YOK, for crying out loud. Shouldn't he have a clue?

"I dunno what happened, sir. Here I was minding my own business and this shirt and pants jumped me. It wasn't my fault. It seams that it was all planned out. I was collared. I tried to fight them off, but they belted me. They were all over me like a cheap suit. I didn't stood a chance."

"I'll be more careful", he says. "I was careless and reckless when I inserted my arms and legs (and head) into The Forbidden Open Tubes of Clothing. I have sinned. Forgive me."

Bah....

I think you're missing the point sir. It is always only the first half of a sentence.

The second part is "and try harder not to get caught".

And then, did he apologize for wearing pants or rather for drunkenly "embracing a woman" at night in a "business district" (which isI guess what most people would worry about, especially his wife)?

"Drunkenly embracing" a friend of his student sister? Pix, please, yellow press!

As I said before, the pictures have been published, but haven't hit the internet media yet. Nobody, including Hakuhou himself , is denying it happened. On the contrary, Hakuhou is attempting to minimize the damage by saying it's all a friendly thing and nothing more.

It was King John who lost his crown jewels in the laundry Wash.

Perhaps the girls were drunkenly embracing Hakuho, but I don't see how you can characterize a guy with his hands in his pockets as "drunkenly embracing" a woman. The girl in the last picture has forgotten how "its" done. Still trying to figure out the topology of picture one but guessing someone must be hidden by the girl-girl couple.

In my dirty old mind, it looks like he just came out of an orgy and is bidding farewell to his lady friends, who are taking turns kissing him. His body language, hands in pocket (playing pocket ping pong, no doubt..) says it all..

OTOH, it can look as if a group of girls passing by noticed him and embraced him as passing fans often do. But he himself denied that possibility by naming one of the women.

Your comment made my day, Dear Naughty Old Sir!!!

If Hakuho gets kicked out, there is nobody that can stop Kaio on his way to promotion... :)

How bout Kakuryu, Harumafuji, Toyonoshima, Kisenosato, Osh... they all regularly beat Kaio.

If Hakuho gets kicked out, I think it will be the final death wheeze of Sumo. (which I doubt is far away anyhow... :() This would represent no clear champion, fans will know that the sport no longer has the most proficient rikishi, but only those who best follow ancient obsolete rules (when they are NOT even engaging in their sport!). Can't think of a better way to make a sport less exiting and alienate fans even further... :p (Yes, talking about the younger generation as the old one who so staunchly support the old traditions are pretty much on their own final death wheezes as well; so selfishly clinging to outdated traditions at the expense of the rest of us who just want to watch good sumo...)

yeah! Lets drive sumo into the ground even further!

Now come on, they cannot kick him out for being seen, standing around, while others frequently visit...erm...ya know what I mean.

I will never get this double-moral BS anyway.

Whatever.

Honestly, if this is the worst they can come up with, it's not much.

Funny title to thread :)

It must be very tough being Yokozuna if cannot even wear trousers, but i guess rules is rules hehe, i like Hakuho a lot, i like any wrestler that towards the end of winning a fight holds his opponent back for safety, so that he won't hurt himself flying out the ring, Hakuho seem to do that a lot and i respect that, i hope he stays in Sumo for many years more like Kaio has, i think he is a great Yokozuna.

I remember Wakatoba in Las Vegas telling me the worst thing that was happening to him there that made it somewhat less enjoyable was the American girls always coming up to him, putting their arms around his shoulder, grabbing his arm, etc., etc. He was of the old school, where no one touched the rikishi unless it was for good luck as he is leaving a bout going back up the hanamichi. I guess it's ok for the Japanese girls to hang all over Hakuho since he's not Japanese?

Sensationalism that I don't understand why anybody would bring this up at a time when sumo doesn't need any more problems. Its like the education manager is purposely hurting sumo...

Its all hypocritical crap as well.. during a stay in Tokyo in 1994, a good friend of mine swears he saw Takanohana in the lobby of his hotel in normal clothes... the only difference to this case is that at that time not everybody had a mobile phone with a camera attached.

Hak could be standing there in a spandex speedo, wearing an executioner's mask, hobnail boots, carrying a battle axe and a dead chicken, and they still wouldn't kick him out.

And for the record... anyone standing with his hands firmly in his pockets, whilst surrounded by young (and obviously drunk) females in stilettos, well, you know.......

Watching these photos I see Hakuho NOT drunk, tranquil, peaceful. I know...he don't dress with kimono and maybe this is uncorrect but I don't think it's a serious scandal.

I remember Baruto walking around Tokyo with casual dresses. He was punished with kinshin but I hope it won't happen to Hakuho.

Baruto was getting into fights too, is the thing. IIRC, that is.
