Hi there,

my name is Rodrigo, a 26 years old guy from Curitiba, Brazil. (is there anyone else from Brazil here? :) )

I've been following this forum (as a guest) for a few months, and today I decided it was time for me to be a part of it :)

(oh, I don't know how to use the smileys very well, let's do a test ---> (Laughing...) )

I have a great interest regarding sumo, and the japanese culture generally speaking. Finally, I'm also on the sumo mailing list, and try to keep myself informed about sumo, reading about it regularly (more like daily :) )

Looking forward to take part on the new threads of this forum,

Rodrigo

Welcome to the forum! :-)

I think you are the first Brazilian here, but I'm not sure.. :-D

As you probably saw when adding your smiley above, there are "names" for every smiley which makes it occur, and the common smiley (which I think you might have tried to get there when writing :) is written as : - ) (without the spaces. B-)

Welcome, welcome! (Laughing...) Great to see a fan from Brazil, after all a country with quite a tradition in pro sumo! :-) Enjoy the forum, and give those sumo games a try... the Brazilian team is terribly underprepresented in the Nations' Cup at this time! :-D

Cheers

In fact, I managed to use the smiley I wanted (exactly because I didn't knew how to use smileys here at all) (Laughing...)

Thanks!

(edit: fix spelling errors)

I tried to participate in some of the games on the last two bashos, but I guess I'm still too "green". No kachi-kochi in three different games... we'll see how it goes next time (Laughing...)

Welcome friend.

Sadly the guy in your avatar won't be around too much longer but you can read elsewhere (Ozumo discussuions) that a new Brazilian is replaceing him at Tamanoi - guess you already know that though

There aren't too many Brazilian Sumo Fans indeed.

Therefore welcome rodarvus!

You might be the first Brazilian in this forum, but there is at least one more Brazilian Sumo Fan out there:

According to the Superbanzuke Chiyotokimiya is Brazilian, too.

And Schwabono starts for Brazil as well in JuryoGame, but I doubt that he is Brazilian. As he's a member of the german Forum and German Tippspiel I consider him as German.

Welcome!

Good time to be a Brazilian sumofan as also Tomozuna had a new Brazilian in Haru basho. Kainohama did well in his debut with 5-2 score including a loss to makushita level Onishi.

According to the Superbanzuke Chiyotokimiya is Brazilian, too.

He was once a Finn too and when I asked him about that, he said he just liked to change nationalities randomly so probably not a real Brazilian (Laughing...)

Hearty salutations from the Swami!

Swami

It's a member introduction from 2004 though.:-D

I was looking for a brazilian gamer and brought the thread back up. Although i do like that you take the time to salute every new member and make them feel welcome.
