Doitsuyama 1,173 Posted November 22, 2010 Another day, another maegashira dropping from the makuuchi leaders as Kyokutenho got pulled down from Miyabiyama. Toyonoshima won against Goeido and is the only maegashira left at 8-1, along with Hakuho, Baruto and Kaio. The stalwart ozeki can celebrate his first day 9 kachi-koshi since Natsu 2007, back then he finished 10-5. The former sole leader Shotenro was the only winning pursuer out of the five-rikishi strong maegashira group at 6-2, thinning out the yusho race a bit. Kisenosato was among those falling to 6-3 as Homasho beat him with a good uwatenage. Tochiozan can put his ozeki bid officially on hold now as he fell to 4-5 with a kubinage loss to Hakuba, completing a ten-bout stretch with the west side winning. The two komusubi lost again, and while they are finished with the higher ranked rikishi now it will be difficult to get the kachi-koshi. Kasugao and Bushuyama already are make-koshi at 1-8 with losses today. Sakaizawa lost again, this time to a pursuer with Kaisei. Wakakoyu and Akiseyama also won, while Takayasu surprisingly lost to Jumonji to stay one win behind the lead. Brazilian Kaisei looked quite in pain after the win over Sakaizawa, holding his left arm - hopefully this won't derail his makuuchi promotion train.
