Wakanoho in American Football

Recommended Posts

Defensive lineman, I assume. I hope he realizes that the henka doesn't work in an American football tachi-ai.

(I am not worthy...)

Seriously, I'm glad he's moving on, and I hope every success comes his way.

That is great. I thought he will be harassed and retaliated in someway by the Roho, Hakurozan brothers back in Ossetia. Even great that he will now have endless supply of the joints down there. It really worked good for him.

That is great to know, good for him!

Funny he is moving on to football. Since I changed cable companies I can now see several American Football games a week for the first time, and with all these scandals and changes in sumo, might AmeFuto claw it's way back up to be my favorite spectator sport?..

OY returns after 100 years, and all everyone can do is get excited by Wakanohou playing football? Nobody welcomes OY back?? Nobody says "Holy baloney, it's OY and he's back!!!"??

Welcome back, OY. You didn't mention Karaev even once..

WAKANOHO is sending to sumoforum members - "Hi".

Hi will visit and post in forum in 2-3 months, when his English will better.

(Ofcourse, my English is pour, but I am working as intepriter for WAKANOHO at this moument.)

WAKANOHOs last two years CV.

1. First half of an year after ozumo he has practiced judo in Ossetia and has had good results.

2. After then he has decided play football in NFL and as a result now he is in USA.

3. He has worked VERY hard in duration 10 months and loose 40kg in weight (from 170kg to 130kg).

4. Now he has a VERY good conditions of body - POWER+FASTNESS.

He runs 40meters in 5 secunds.

5. Last half of an year he plays football in Webber Internationale Univercity "WARRIORS" team .

IN WHAT WAKANOHO NEEDS NOW?

He needs in a good AGENT, or in PROMOUTER, or in MANAGER ( I dont know "who is who" of them),

who can shaw WAKANOHO to different NFL teams for concluding CONTRACT.

Any halp and ideas will be VERY aprishiated.

WHAT DO YOU THINCK?

My uneducated guess: He certainly should be very cautious with "agents" or "promoters" as he could very quickly be uneligible for universities as he is considered a "professional" if he has an agent. Besides, getting into the NFL is a very lofty goal, very likely more difficult than becoming a sekitori (once you manage to get into Ozumo). You also need to learn the technics and tactics of football, and this starts in early ages, just like wrestling/judo. Wakanoho did wrestling as a child (even sumo as he was young as he began) so it didn't surprise me that he had success there. He probably didn't play American football so it's an uphill battle... Webber International also doesn't seem to be in one of the bigger affilations (or any affiliation at all...). He should concentrate on his studies and try to be able to make a successful living outside of sports as top priority while also trying to become as good a football player he can.

The best thing he can do now is listen to his coaches and lay off the typical college vice of partying all the time. He's got a lot of learning to do, as Doitsuyama pointed out, the other players his age have been playing football since they were 7 or 8 years old. I wish him the best and hope he's able to turn his athletic ability into a successful career. Hopefully, I can make my way down to Florida and see a game.
