There were only two players with double-digit equivalent win/loss records in Makuuchi and only one in Juryo. Makushita saw only one player at 6-1 and only one at 5-2. Jonokuchi also produced only one player with a record of 6-1 or better. The battle for the highest overall score was much more interesting as Takanosushi ended up edging Shimodahito by just two points 1519-1517. Of our five Ozeki, 4 finished MK, with the kadoban Flohru losing his rank and dropping back to Sekiwake for next basho. Randomitsuki, Fujisan and Taka will all be kadoban heading into July. Saruwatari and Ketsukai collected the most special prizes, winning two each. Takanokaze and Shimodahito added a special prize each to their respective Yusho wins. I'm taking a few days off from Sumo related activities and will begin working on the new banzuke next weekend. Hopefully it will be ready for presentation sometime early next week.
