Doitsuyama 1,173 Posted March 16, 2004 Kakizoe beating Sekiwake Kotomitsuki was the only upset in the Sanyaku ranks today. Surprisingly Tochiazuma withdrew from the basho with a shoulder dislocation he suffered in a win against Tochinonada on day 4 in Hatsu. He got a fusensho on day 5 and won days 6 to 8 for a 7-1 first week. The shoulder dislocation seems to be of the "self-worsening" type as he then had difficulties putting a 9-6 kachi-koshi together, and now, eight weeks after the dislocation has to go kyujo. At this rate, will he even have two arms in Natsu? Otsukasa, Kasugao, Gojoro, Takanowaka and Sumanofuji are the early Juryo leaders and all but Takanowaka are looking strong. Hamanishiki isn't looking healthy while the other winless Juryo rikishi probably only have injured pride. -- Doitsuyama Day 3 Juryo J11w Dewanofuji (2-1) oshidashi J13w Masutsuyoshi (2-1) J11e Tokitenku (1-2) hatakikomi J14w Ichinotani (2-1) J10w Sumanofuji (3-0) oshidashi J14e Wakakosho (1-2) J13e Daimanazuru (1-2) yorikiri J10e Hamanishiki (0-3) J8w Hakuho (2-1) yorikiri J12e Ama (1-2) J12w Bushuyama (1-2) yorikiri J8e Towanoyama (1-2) J5e Takanowaka (3-0) yorikiri J9w Juzan (0-3) J4e Wakatoba (2-1) okuridashi J9e Takanotsuru (2-1) J7e Gojoro (3-0) tsukidashi J3w Roho (0-3) J7w Tamarikido (1-2) uwatenage J3e Kobo (1-2) J6w Kasugao (3-0) yorikiri J2w Hayateumi (2-1) J6e Kitazakura (2-1) tsukiotoshi J2e Tamakasuga (1-2) J1w Otsukasa (3-0) abisetaoshi J5w Nakao (0-3) J1e Oikari (2-1) oshidashi J4w Kaido (0-3) Makuuchi M16w Kaiho (2-1) tsukiotoshi M15w Toyozakura (1-2) M17e Yotsukasa (3-0) hikiotoshi M14w Ushiomaru (2-1) M14e Harunoyama (2-1) yorikiri M16e Wakanoyama (0-3) M12w Asasekiryu (3-0) yorikiri M15e Futeno (0-3) M10w Kotoryu (3-0) oshitaoshi M13w Chiyotenzan (0-3) M10e Kasuganishiki (2-1) oshidashi M12e Toki (1-2) M9e Buyuzan (3-0) oshidashi M13e Kotonowaka (1-2) M11w Takekaze (2-1) oshidashi M8w Takanonami (0-3) M8e Takamisakari (3-0) hikiotoshi M11e Asanowaka (0-3) M9w Kokkai (3-0) yorikiri M5w Iwakiyama (1-2) M7e Tochisakae (2-1) yorikiri M5e Tokitsuumi (1-2) M7w Kinkaiyama (1-2) hikiotoshi M4w Tosanoumi (0-3) M6e Hokutoriki (2-1) tsukiotoshi M4e Aminishiki (1-2) M3e Tochinonada (2-1) sukuinage M6w Jumonji (0-3) K1e Kakizoe (1-2) yorikiri S1w Kotomitsuki (1-2) S1e Wakanosato (2-1) yorikiri M3w Tamanoshima (2-1) O1w Kaio (3-0) hatakikomi M2e Dejima (0-3) O1e Chiyotaikai (3-0) hatakikomi M2w Kyokutenho (2-1) O2w Musoyama (2-1) tsukiotoshi K1w Shimotori (1-2) M1e Miyabiyama (1-2) fusen O2e Tochiazuma (0-3) Y1e Asashoryu (3-0) tsukidashi M1w Kyokushuzan (1-2) Day 4 Makushita Ms15e Nadatsukasa (1-0) Ms13w Ryuho (1-0) Ms13e Komanofuji (0-1) Ms11w Senshuyama (0-1) Ms9e Kotonomine (1-0) Ms10w Chiyohakuho (1-0) Ms7e Tochitenko (1-0) Ms8e Kotokasuga (1-0) Ms5e Maikaze (0-1) Ms6w Kotoshogiku (0-1) Juryo J13e Daimanazuru (1-2) Ms1e Hagiwara (1-1) J11e Tokitenku (1-2) J14e Wakakosho (1-2) J10e Hamanishiki (0-3) J14w Ichinotani (2-1) J13w Masutsuyoshi (2-1) J10w Sumanofuji (3-0) J9e Takanotsuru (2-1) J12e Ama (1-2) J12w Bushuyama (1-2) J8w Hakuho (2-1) J7e Gojoro (3-0) J11w Dewanofuji (2-1) J6e Kitazakura (2-1) J9w Juzan (0-3) J5e Takanowaka (3-0) J8e Towanoyama (1-2) J7w Tamarikido (1-2) J4w Kaido (0-3) J3e Kobo (1-2) J6w Kasugao (3-0) J2e Tamakasuga (1-2) J4e Wakatoba (2-1) J5w Nakao (0-3) J2w Hayateumi (2-1) J3w Roho (0-3) J1w Otsukasa (3-0) Makuuchi M16e Wakanoyama (0-3) J1e Oikari (2-1) M15e Futeno (0-3) M17e Yotsukasa (3-0) M13e Kotonowaka (1-2) M14w Ushiomaru (2-1) M12e Toki (1-2) M16w Kaiho (2-1) M15w Toyozakura (1-2) M12w Asasekiryu (3-0) M11e Asanowaka (0-3) M13w Chiyotenzan (0-3) M14e Harunoyama (2-1) M10w Kotoryu (3-0) M9e Buyuzan (3-0) M11w Takekaze (2-1) M8e Takamisakari (3-0) M10e Kasuganishiki (2-1) M9w Kokkai (3-0) M8w Takanonami (0-3) M6e Hokutoriki (2-1) M7e Tochisakae (2-1) M7w Kinkaiyama (1-2) M6w Jumonji (0-3) M4e Aminishiki (1-2) M5e Tokitsuumi (1-2) M5w Iwakiyama (1-2) M4w Tosanoumi (0-3) K1e Kakizoe (1-2) M2w Kyokutenho (2-1) S1e Wakanosato (2-1) K1w Shimotori (1-2) M3w Tamanoshima (2-1) S1w Kotomitsuki (1-2) M1w Kyokushuzan (1-2) O1w Kaio (3-0) O1e Chiyotaikai (3-0) M1e Miyabiyama (1-2) M3e Tochinonada (2-1) O2w Musoyama (2-1) Y1e Asashoryu (3-0) M2e Dejima (0-3)
Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted March 16, 2004 You know, I think my Sumo Game opponent yesterday knew about Tochiazuma's kyujo somehow (Applauding...) That's why he put Miyabiyama at the #1 slot, ahead of Asashoryu, and that ended up being the tiebreaker in our match. (In a bad mood...) (Sigh...) :-) Good tactics and patience on his behalf, however.

Yoavoshimaru 0 Posted March 16, 2004 Yeah, that seems unfair sometimes. To have extra sources of information, e.g. local news updated every few minutes...
aderechelsea 124 Posted March 16, 2004 Good time zone rather (Sigh...) You could always wake up in the crack of dawn to play your sumo games. Who needs sleep when you can win the Bench Sumo Yusho..........? (I am not worthy...) :-P
aderechelsea 124 Posted March 16, 2004 Does anyone else think that Kaiho can whip Toki's @$$ tomorrow and start feeling a bit more confident about prolonging his Makuuchi career? i sure hope so.........
