aderechelsea 124 Posted March 15, 2004 Does anyone else think that Kyokutenho's game against Tochiazuma is very interesting because of the reprecussions it might have? if Zuma loses this bout (and by the look of it , very possibly) i believe that he will be "injured" and drop out of the basho, while Tenho will already be a shukun-sho candidate...... :-D if Zuma wins...............nothing happens............ B-) if Zuma wins...............nothing happens............ (Applauding...) Beating Musoyama and Tochiazuma would not be enough for the shukun-sho, I'd say. If Tenho beats the yokozuna and gets kachi-koshi, he has bagged the shukun-sho, but otherwise I think it would take something equally exceptional, like beating all four ozeki. :-D Edit: Unless Musoyama wins the yusho, of course! Guest Vincentoryu Posted March 15, 2004 Does anyone else think that Kyokutenho's game against Tochiazuma is very interesting because of the reprecussions it might have? As for as I know the day 3 matches are: Kyokutenho - Chiyotaikai and Tochiazuma - Miyabiyama.

Asashosakari 18,783 Posted March 15, 2004 (edited) If Tenho beats the yokozuna and gets kachi-koshi, he has bagged the shukun-sho Assuming that Asashoryu stays in the (yusho) race. It wouldn't necessarily be a shukun-sho for Tenho if Shoryu finished the basho 8-2-5 or something like that. Edited March 15, 2004 by Asashosakari
Taka 33 Posted March 15, 2004 (edited) Did anyone see juryo bouts? What were the highlights of juryo in addition to evidently exciting Oikari-Roho? Just see for yourself at http://www.banzuke.com/~juryoika/200403/index.html. I found some time today to make and upload 43 bout movies from day 1 and 2 action. Great! :-) Hmmm should I laugh or should I cry? After watching those I changed about 10 of my picks for tomorrows bouts :-) Guess I'll have to wait for my answer....until tomorrow that is (Applauding...) Kashunowaka 300 Posted March 16, 2004 Tomorrow we'll have exceptionally interesting bout between Kokkai and Iwakiyama!! Kokkai won't be able to push Iwakiyama out with his style so it'll be fascinating and all family members you can get contact with should be contacted and advised to find an on-line environment with live sumo video. It will be a good sumo exhibition of one kind. Thats what I said before Kokkai's bout with 195+ kg Towanoyama a couple basho ago. Size alone will not be enough to stop Kokkai's oshi. Iwakiyama is a high-maegashira to sanyaku claibur rikishi, and should be favored. It will be a great bout. It was a very good bout, and true enough Kokkai couldn't push Iwakiyama out. But he could force Iwakiyama out anyway after the bout went to yotsu. Kokkai's windmill oshi is hard for the other rikishi to cope with, and he is no slouch in yotsu-zumo either. I am really looking forward to seeing him against The Big Boys - perhaps already this basho? (Applauding...)
