Hi everyone,

I should apologize for not posting this sooner. I signed up to participate in this forum and then ran out of time to peruse it. Apologies. :-P

After having read a few of your posts, I realize that I know very little about the world of sumo so I hope you'll tolerate a few new-to-sumo questions that I may post on occasion.

In the meantime, I'm glad to be on the site and I'm anticipating the discussions. B-)

Cheers,

Chiyotaiyo

Welcome, Chiyo. It's really fun around here!

Dont worry about asking 'stupid' questions,I do that all the time and no ones got upset so far.

(In a state of confusion...)

If I'd get kicked for every "stupid" question I ask, I'd be black and blue all the time.... (You are going off-topic...)

A warm welcome, Chiyotaiyo! We were all beginners once, so feel free to ask anything... I'm always happy to help.

BTW, any special meaning to Chiyotaiyo? Is it taiyo=sun?

Chiyo means a thousand doesn't it?

So Chiyotaiyo would be a thousand suns, right?

Thanks for the welcome guys! And, yes, Chiyotaiyo equals a thousand suns. It's just something I thought would be fun to use as a log-in name. :)

Yes I thought so but to be honest I only knew what 'chiyo' meant because of my all time favoyurite rikishi 'Thousand generations of Fuji," Chiyonofuji-

I would not have known what Taiyo meant.
