Doitsuyama 1,157 Posted January 8, 2004 Ok, I'm about to make my wild-ass guesses as usual for the Sumo games. As I'm getting more and more lazy, I of course forgot to save the kyujo page on the NSK site before the banzuke appeared. I won't need to save it in the future as kosho got abolished, but for now... WHO THE HECK IS KOSHO THIS BASHO? My guess is Kotonowaka, Tamarikido and Gojoro, anything wrong with this?
Fujisan 512 Posted January 8, 2004 Well I notice the fantasy sumo game already has Kotonowaka down as Kosho but is that just guesswork?
Doitsuyama 1,157 Posted January 8, 2004 Kyujo is guesswork - kosho not! Kosho is (was) an official status awarded for injury inflicted during hon-basho. This said, I agree with you, that Fantasy Sumo's assessment might be guesswork, or might not. Given the nature of Kotonowaka's injury I wouldn't be surprised to see him out of Hatsu, kosho or not. Onnagumo 4 Posted January 8, 2004 Kotonowaka will not participate in Hatsu basho, but he'll be back in March: http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=1897
Zenjimoto 39 Posted January 8, 2004 My guess is Kotonowaka, Tamarikido and Gojoro, anything wrong with this? That is absolutely my guess too... IIRC these three got Kosho, so it would be most surprising to see them now... Cheers Zenjimoto

This was established a couple of weeks ago here on the forum (although I won't locate the thread, it should be easily found) when Kashunowaka (I think) asked something similar, and if I'm not completely wrong (which, at least in this case, I'm not), your guess was exactly what was the answer. Kintamayama 42,367 Posted January 8, 2004 (edited) Kotonowaka is definitely kyujo. He himself said so. I translated the article ages ago. Don't you people read my posts? In any case, AFAIK, there has NEVER been a guy who was given the kosho status and participated anyway, and Kotonowaka definitely has the status. The major Japanese games have him as kyujo as well. I will now retire to my chambers. Edited January 8, 2004 by Kintamayama

Kintamayama 42,367 Posted January 8, 2004 (edited) I was gonna answer kintamayas post but cant for the life of me remember what he said- Well, one thing is for sure-you never for the life of you remember my shikona and get it right... And what was your question again? Edited January 8, 2004 by Kintamayama
Fujisan 512 Posted January 8, 2004 Sorry Kintmayama, actually it was a deliberate mispelling I was trying to shorten it to a more managable level. If you prefer the full version I will use it from now on and no before you ask I dont mind you shortening my shikona to "Fu."
