Doing what I promised before the new ozumo banzuke is out....

Apart from the first basho (when all players' scores are counted), I am deciding on the records thusly....

a) Mae-zumo players are excluded from calculations.

b) Kyujo (0-0-15) players are excluded from calculations.

c) Players going intai during a basho are excluded from calculations.

d) All players scores are added up, and an average taken. That figure is then rounded to the nearest whole digit. That becomes the KK / MK cut off-line.

e) The above score (not rounded up) has 33.33% added to it, which is then rounded to the nearest whole digit. This is to give the Ozeki-calibre record. (This equates to the difference between 7.5 and 10, which directly relates to ozumo.)

Edit: New rule c) in memorandum of Kofuji.

Yaochoyama justifies his promotion to Ozeki with his third yusho in four bashos. Naturally September will be a tsunatori basho for him. Another yusho, or a yusho equivalent (I.e. if he loses the yusho due to tie-breaks) will see him promoted to Yokozuna for September

OK to play this game entirely pre-basho? I'm not sure I'll be able to make regular entries... Otherwise kosho/kyujo...

Comments: We have our first Yokozuna - and a new Ozeki to boot. Congratulations to Yaochoyama and Profomisakari (Whistling...)

Oshirokita needs an OQ record next basho to be promoted to Ozeki. (He could get lucky with a near miss.)

Jejima needs an OQ record to be promoted to Ozeki.

Sokkenaiyama, Harry and Ganzohnesushi need to turn up - or be banzuke-gai. (Clapping wildly...)
