Doitsuyama 1,173 Posted November 19, 2003 Tochitenko is the first Makushita at 6-0, Daimanazuru and Sumiya should determine the second tomorrow. Tochitenko already has been in Makushita yusho playoffs Natsu 1990 (8 rikishi), Nagoya 1996 (9 rikishi) and Natsu 1997 (7 rikishi), but lost all. On day 13 he should have the chance to win his first ever yusho in his long career. Both Mongolians at Makushita 1 are 3-3 now, and a very likely promotion depends on the seventh bout for both of them. Gokenzan and Wakatenro at Ms3 both have very good promotion chances at 4-2 and 5-1. The Russian Roho won against Hamanoshima and at Ms5 and 4-2 he should have his chances too this basho. Not to forget Kagaya in Sandanme, he won to advance to 5-1, and performed nothing less than a tsutaezori! It should be really interesting to see him in action on the webstream. Three of the four lower Kokonoe undefeated rikishi fought today, only Chiyonishiki in Jonidan won. Shin-deshi Sokokurai from China beat Chiyotenma in Jonokuchi. -- Doitsuyama Jonokuchi Jk37w Kotokaneko (4-2) oshidashi Jk34w Aigaki (3-3) Jk39e Kimishima (4-1) oshidashi Jk32w Ogata (2-4) Jk36e As you say, Ama, Tokitenku, Gokenzan or even Roho might secure a promotion if winning their last. If the expansion happens, I'm curious whether they might promote Sumiya or Daimanazuru if either of them goes 7-0. They're both just below ms15, but as they would normally be promoted to about ms01w anyway, they might grab one of the expansion slots in Juryo instead...
