Massacre Day for me today. At least, in some of the games already (as I'm reporting while it's happening).

Let's begin with SumoTipSpiel : a total off-day with picking nothing but losers will see my score stall at 25

Then Trio : went for a trio for the B-side, while it actually was the A-side to collect one ; so I'm at 1-3 now

In ISP I took off with a 2-0, but I'm down to 2-2 already after picking Aminishiki yesterday & Chiyotaikai today

And Seki-Toto is a complete disaster as well, today : with also Kotooshu losing, I'm on 12/31 ; definitely a defeat, so sadly I'm not among the unbeaten group anymore : 3-1

Now what's more to come, with four more bouts left ?

Uff, Kotomitsuki wins, so at least I'm scoring in Seki-Quad today, taking me from 0-2 to 2-2. For Bench Sumo, Sumo Game and Odd Sumo it will depend on the three remaining bouts and the opponents whether I will be scoring or not.

EDIT :

Looks like at least Bench Sumo (4-0) and Sumo Game (2-2) will be going my way today.

And in Odd Sumo (34.44) I'm scoring as well. Though I was in a doubt whether to include Tamawashi (rated 2.16) or not.

If only I would have done so ! Would have made the difference of an extra 6.73 points.

My bench sumo game continues to be simply awful. I thought I'd finally won a second match this basho when I saw my perfect score (plus 3 winners on the bench which should have been a 8GBL if not for a brain fart) but I came up against a 9GBL so even without my brain fart I stood no chance! This on a day when the average score wasn't that good... what can I do but laugh and cry at the same time???

Otherwise I'm doing alright which makes it really odd that I can't pick 5 matches in bench most days (aside from today). I'm 5-1 in Toto and 4-2 in ISP, go figure though Chiyotaikai who shares my bench sumo score so far blew me out of Chaingang early as usual. I didn't pick him in bench but I still seem to be linked with him somehow, won on shonichi but heading for oblivion ever since.

Edit: Oh, and using my heart instead of my head in wave 5 of Banzuke Surfing is not turning out that well. EVERYONE else picked Kei of course so I thought I'd be different and pick an old adoptee in Oohifuji but alas he isn't doing well (perhaps I should stop sending him encouragement...).

Edit again: and somehow I currently have the 2nd best score in Rotosumo. Not sure how that happened but probably won't continue unless a couple of guys shape up.

I'm also 1-5 in -Toto. Also the results in the Sandanme Game have been much lower than usual for most players.

On the other hand, I'm sharing the lead in the Makushita Game so I'm not completely out of tune this basho!

Bob, I have of course noticed the chipping away at the Maxi list with GREAT joy! Lovely work, as always (Hugging...) ;-)

How hard would it be to change the font to Arial, by the way? If that's real easy to do, I think it would make for a quickie look update in conjunction with the other changes B-)

Changing to Arial might be feasible if I created a style sheet for the game ... But probably not for this basho ... Still fighting with computers.

(Censored...) This basho is demonstrating the downsides of my being an ultra-conservative player with little deviation in my results...normally I'm mostly on the right side of the 50% line, but this basho is upset-heavy enough that I'm consistently on the other side. (Censored...)

Toto 2-8 after today with 5 losses where I missed the win by just one point (including the last three in a row), Quad 3-7 with 6 two-point losses. And Tippspiel I had two really bad days early on that dropped me about 7 points into MK territory, where I'm stuck since then because I keep scoring right on the average.

Coincidentally enough, that's the second time in my Toto career that a kachikoshi streak of mine ends in the 13th basho. Good thing I'm not superstitious or anything...

If Sumo Game was about alternating between winners and losers, I scored an absolute perfect on day 10 :

Sadly, it meant my 1st defeat in 5 appearances against Zeokage.

Anyway, I started this basho rather good. The first three days, I was also still able to watch the live stream.

But mainly days 5, 6, 7 and 10 have been bad ones.

My basho evolutions so far :

- From 4-0 over 4-3 to currently 7-3 in Bench Sumo

- From 1-2 over 4-2 to currently 6-4 in Sumo Game

- From 3-0 over 5-2 to currently 5-5 in Seki-Toto

- From 0-2 over 4-4 to currently 4-6 in Seki-Quad

- From 1-4 over 3-5 to currently 3-7 in TRIO

- From 2-0 over 3-3 to currently 7-3 in ISP

- From 34.44 over 28.46 to 30.91 in Odd Sumo

- From 19/30 over 39/120 to 59/150 in TipSpiel

- Out on day 2 (picking Hoshihikari) in ChainGang

To be frank, I expected as much. Triki wasn't likely to go down 0-15, and there's hardly anyone easier left to beat than Tokitenku. Toto was the only game I picked Tenku, just to be on the safe side.

I'm on a positive record in 5 of the 8 daily games I'm playing (not taking Chain Gang into account).

But still it feels like I'm having a hell of a basho. Mainly because all is going terribly wrong in Seki-Quad the last 5 days.

I almost won the makushita Rotosumo yusho but day 14 killed me with Vikanohara flying right past me... Still managed to win a gino-sho, I think.

I think I got a shukun-sho in Sekitori Toto plus KK of course which is always nice.

KK in ISP is always good though a couple of mistakes cost me higher ranking.

Barely KK'd in Bench but hopefully that is enough.

Got the right score in GTK but the other questions I think were mostly wrong so it will be interesting to see who wins that one.

Day 2 bust on Chain Gang, again...

Total washout on Salary Cap which I still don't understand apparently. Might be giving up on that one as I just don't get it. I've tried buying the most expensive guys or the most cheap guys and nothing works for me. Studying the picks of the winners doesn't help much, they must have a good forumula obviously!

Haven't checked in on my final surfing standings but not the greatest basho I think there, maybe a few barely KK guys plus a few washouts.

Are there more recent results somewhere? The ones on the game page end at day 10 when I was 33/34! KK would be nice...
