Bealzbob 0 Posted September 30, 2008 (edited) So, what's the thinking on the final komusubi spot? I've given it to Toyonoshima because I can't justify putting Aminishiki in there despite a KK. Do others strongly disagree? History actually favours Aminishiki. His scenario happened for Takanowaka in 2002 whereas Toyonoshima's scenario hasn't happened since 1953. Harry 67 Posted September 30, 2008 Unfortunately for Toyonoshima, his situation is very similar to the one recently where 6-9 Kotoshogiku fell to M1E and Toyo himself took the S1W spot. There an 8-7 Asasekiryu, admittedly from a bit higher up, replaced one komusubi spot while Baruto leapt over him for the east komusubi with his high score. I fully expect that Goeido will leapfrog Aminishiki in the same way to K1E and Toyo will similarly find himself at M1E but I could be wrong. Must make my GTB entry soon... Bealzbob 0 Posted September 30, 2008 Hmmm, yes-ish. At least a 9-6 numerically merits a +3 rank promotion. 8-7 only 1, so it's a sizeable difference. But I'm leaning towards Aminishiki now after querying it and may have to change my GTB (which I don't like doing).
