Gernobono 399 Posted September 13, 2008 I'm too(>_<;) for me all the games on the sumogames server should be abandoned for this basho.... it is annoying for all participating and even more for the gyoji..... just look at benchsumo players can't register no torikumi can be made daily entries can't be made and when the server is ready all players will try to enter at the same time.....and we know what that means.... why not call it quits, then
Kaiowaka 4 Posted September 13, 2008 Perhaps, it's time to play another sumogames ??? The Yin & Yang Sumo Balance wait of your participation...... Adress of the game with rules in English, German or French : http://sumotori.free.fr/yysb/index.htm

Misisko 0 Posted September 13, 2008 I fully agree with Gernobono. Maybe in daily games like Toto, SQ, ISP... where no pre basho picks and Gyoji work is needed we could consider to start from day 2 for example... but I don't thik that is a good idea to hope that server will not crush accepting all the picks few hours before bsaho. And I believe that most of the players have better workt to do than triyng to submit their picks and pre basho entries whole saturday night and Sunday morning.... Got my entry in BS, but need to make changes. Don't dare request manual change, as the guys are already loaded up, and they are all volunteers. Fairness to all to just skip Aki. It depends...in my experience, well over half the players are making their Day 1 entries for Toto and Quad (probably ISP, too) in the last 12 hours before the deadline anyway and many more wouldn't have a problem doing so, so if the server miraculously comes alive in the next couple of hours (and doesn't immediately fall over as everyone rushes to access the SumoDB...) I'd be inclined to let the games run. Bench is a different and more complicated issue, naturally.

Hironoumi 0 Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) The meeting that I can't access now. Juryo Game,Roto Sumo,Hoshitori Game,Bench Sumo, CG,3 series of Sekitori games,ISP Will not Sekitori-Oracle and Hoshitori Game of a vote before Basho be impossible of holding anymore for this tournament? Have been already already under 18 hours until the deadline, and the poll closing time is the middle of the night depending on a country; and ... The good balance with the opponent has Bench Sumo, and CG has a meaning in playing from day 1... Edited September 13, 2008 by Hironoumi

It is only the proposition to discover another seen game that some should not work during this basho. I regret the situation of "sumogames.com" and I am very disappointed! I had to make my makuuchi's debuts in the bench sumo and it is one of my favorite games! B-) Sorry for my english......................... Jejima 1,000 Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) There seems to be a lot of negativity before it is necessary :-) With the daily games (such as ISP), you can get nearly as much fun with 14 days (or maybe still 15, if we are lucky :-)) of action. As for Bench Sumo, myself and others (special mention to Kofuji and Jakusotsu - and of course to the torikumi makers who have confirmed their on stand-by status - and to the day-to-day gyojis for day 1....) have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that this Bench Basho will have every chance of going ahead as possible, and we continue to do so. I have just set up a plan of action to cover the time between now and the actual start of the basho, which I am confident will work. Even if the server is a little later, I have another plan up my sleeve ;-) So no, the Bench Sumo will not be cancelled at this stage. Of course, if you do not wish to play under these conditions, but have already entered a team, let me (and Jakusotsu) know before the server returns that you prefer to be kosho (so long as you did not miss July's basho, this request will be granted). It will take more than this to stop a Bench Sumo (I am not worthy...) Basho. P.S. Yin & Yang Sumo Balance is an interesting pre-basho game, and certainly worth checking out. Asashosakari 16,980 Posted September 13, 2008 Well, with only 8 hours to go to the deadline and things becoming increasingly unfair to European players, I'll go ahead and cancel Day 1 for Seki-Toto. Potentially entering 50 or 60 sets of picks is pretty much prohibitive (assuming the server comes up at all before the deadline), not to mention that I didn't solicit email picks in light of the server situation to begin with, and many players who might have sent something in may already be asleep now. We'll (hopefully) pick things up with Day 2 or whenever the game works again, and take things from there.

XiaoTan 93 Posted September 13, 2008 The server seems to be up and running, but it is impossible to login. I guess I have to request KOSHO for the pre-basho games of Seki-Quad and Seki-Oracle. Aah, it was up and running but is down again... Neko
Zentoryu 154 Posted September 13, 2008 I'm very close to canceling RotoSumo. There weren't that many entries made before the server went down, so unless things come back up soon and there's a slew of entries, I can't see how I can run a viable tournament. Asashosakari 16,980 Posted September 13, 2008 Does this mean the torikumi wont be available with the info on all the matches? How would I know? Kofuji's the one working on the server, not me. If the game comes up sometime soon, you're of course free to log in and look at the Toto torikumi, but I'm going to disregard any picks made for Day 1.
