Exil 301 Posted May 9, 2008 (edited) First and foremost, some of you have been wondering why some avatars look weird. This is because our ISP has disabled remote file access to further secure the site. When you use offsite avatars the script cannot read the dimensions of the image and you end up with a squished avatar. Avatars from before January 2008, as well as uploaded avatars should work, so if you encounter any problems with your avatar, please download the image and upload it using My Controls -> Edit Avatar Settings. Also due to this issue, the results grabber of Banzuke Central doesn't work, and updates will be intermittent. This is beyond our control. Nevertheless, apologies for the inconvenience. Second, a new policy that is somewhat overdue. We will start pruning the member database in order to remove inactive accounts. Accounts that have been inactive for 12 months are pending removal. The period of inactivity will be determined from the last login. After 6 months of inactivity your account will be listed as inactive and after 12 months it will be removed. If you are listed as an Inactive User, all you need to do is log in to avoid having your account removed. Active users are exempt from this policy. Third, you now have a new section in your profile called About Me. Go check it out and find some use for it. Note however that the forum rules apply to your profile information as well. So don't go all MySpace on us. :-O That is all. Have a good basho. (Holiday feeling...) Edited May 9, 2008 by Exil
Exil 301 Posted June 2, 2008 As per the new account policy detailed above, over 100 abandoned user accounts have been deleted. User groups have been adjusted to reflect current member status. From now on, user accounts will be pruned roughly every two months. Also, I just noticed that I have been an administrator for four years. (Sigh...) How time flies when you're behaving in a generally administrative fashion. ;-)
