Afrozuna 8 Posted March 16, 2008 What agreat bout, the drama before it made it a treat. Asa just had to remain in the crouching position longer before going for the salts. I didn't know the other rikishi had to wait for the rikishi still crouching before heading for the salts. It was so embarassing for Waka to remain standing for a lengthy period of time while Asa did his Diva-Yokozuna routine. The tension was really great by that time. Asa is just so powerful right now I can't see how he will be stopped. Hakuho's victory was not so convincing. His yotsu-zumo seems predictable and non-decisive today. Kotoviki 16 Posted March 16, 2008 I thought Wakanoho looked pretty cool before that bout!!! He really looked like he could take Asa... I wished he had!!! I'm new here, don't want to offend anyone but I just can't stand Asashoryu at all!!!!!! What little respect I could have had left for him went out the window last Tuesday (Was it Tuesday?) when he gave that unneeded super shove after winning to show his strength! That really made me mad and kept me mad.. I think I'm still mad. How unsportsmanlike he is!!! I love World Rally Car racing too and there is a certain driver I hate who thinks he is the world. Arrogant as they come. Last October I came face to face with him. I didn't know what to say, I just said "hello" and I know he was shocked as I was the only person who wasn't fawning all over him. Even people I knew didn't like him got his autograph because he's famous. I just said hello and walked off. I just couldn't pretend something that wasn't. Kotoviki 16 Posted March 16, 2008 I just couldn't pretend something that wasn't. You must be a very strong lady, living in Japan thinking like that. (Applauding...) You make a good point.. maybe I am!! I do bow down a lot in Japan and play the games, I admit.. I'm not as strong as I appear! However, it is easier for foreigners to speak their minds and still stay in bounds as long as you don't go too far. The above race driver situation was easier maybe.. he's from Europe so I could be very American! (Applauding...) Now this "strong" lady has to go to bed to face all the little devils.. I mean Hoikuen (Kinder and pre-K) students in just 7 hours time.. The last devil dealings of the year (Help me...) and then a few weeks off from devil land!!! (Applauding...) (Applauding...) (Clapping wildly...) (Clapping wildly...) See everyone tomorrow night.. after the tax man!! Oh that is the real devil tomorrow!
Gusoyama 95 Posted March 17, 2008 I was very impressed with Wakanoho in his Asa bout. Straight forward, took the bull by the horns, and put up a good fight. This may be the first time I've glanced at the 70 bandwagon. He didn't look scared at the tachiai, but looked pumped.

(You are going off-topic...) Barbara, I haven't followed Wakanoho until recently but he really does seem to be a very decent kid. The more I watch him the more I like him! And he sure does have a beautiful smile!!! As for not liking rikishi.. surprisingly there are only two I don't like. Of course I love some more than others but nobody I don't really care for among the rest!! Maybe it is just the way he looked when he made that extra shove after he won? I'm not sure. And you know.. maybe after I met him I might like him. I think he is really cute in his interview pictures and especially when I see him doing kids sumo! He looks like a totally different person. I love his laugh too!! (In a state of confusion...) Well today I'm really divided, I do love Hakuho but I love Ama more.. since I'm sure Asa is going to win this tournament then I want Ama to win! :-) I'd sure like to see Chiyotaikai come with some great force and beat Asa. That would be fantastic! Better go back to the big TV, I hear Baruto is up, then Goeido (now he's a cutie!) and then Tochiozan. Sure hoping he can keep on winning too! Kotoku 0 Posted March 23, 2008 Hi Barbara! Wish I could have seen the basho, always glad when Asashoryu wins. Seems banzuke.com has not been updated since last Nagoya. Is that place finished? Rats! I was hoping to watch the match hi-lights from Sacramento. My wife said the senshurakku musubi no ichiban was a real letdown. Anyhow, nice to see your smiling face with Asa... :- ) Tq
