Kintamayama 44,639 Posted March 3, 2008 Hakuhou went to Dewanoumi again today, and chanced upon Kokkai, Kasugaou, and Futenou, engaging them in 16 bouts, going 15-1. As opposed to Asashouryuu who is traveling far and wide seeking rivals for degeiko, Hakuhou seems to be content visiting the neighboring Dewanoumi-beya. Asked why he is not going to other heyas, he answered: "What for? If they want to become stronger, they should come over here!", showing his pride without prejudice. Harry 67 Posted March 6, 2008 Hakuhou with his mainichi aite Futenou, here being sent for a nagetobasu (no, that isn't a kimarite but its what the photo caption says): 5th day, Oozumo Yokozuna Hakuhou doing degeiko again. He went 15 for 18 with Juryo Masatsukasa, Makuuchi Kasugao and Futenou as the aite. There was pride as the east Yokozuna left quietly.
Kintamayama 44,639 Posted March 6, 2008 Hakuhou has wrapped up his degeikoing this time around, going to Dewanoumi and winning 15 of 18, as Harry reported. When told his main adversary Asashouryuu was resting, all he said was "resting is good..", seemingly not giving a toss. He did meet Asa at a party on the 4th. "He was wearing clothes so I couldn't see his body (so I wouldn't know what shape he is in..). I'm too busy worrying about myself..", he said, pride oozing out of him.. So that really should be translated as oozing! Wow. ;-)
Kintamayama 44,639 Posted March 8, 2008 Hakuhou wrapped up his preparations for Haru at home by training with heyamate Ryuuou, having 16 bouts with him, losing three. "I think it has been going rather well", he said. He has lost 2 of his 4 shonichi bouts since becoming Yokozuna. "Well, it's shonichi. I'm not thinking if my opponent is small or large (he has the short Komusubi Takekaze tomorrow). I just gotta do what I gotta do", he waxed philosophical.
