Super Banzuke whereabouts...

Recommended Posts

The Hatsu Superbanzuke is now online.

Out of curiousity, are the GISP results for Hatsu factored into this? I ask because they still aren't up on the GISP site.

You are right that curiously they aren't up yet. But the weird thing about your question is, what does that have to do with the Hatsu Superbanzuke? The Superbanzuke collects banzuke, not results from games.

Because the Hatsu Superbanzuke includes points from GISP, and neither GISP's results or banzuke for Hatsu is posted.

Then I recall that the Hatsu Superbanzuke is actually based on Kyushu results, and due to circumstances is a late banzuke this time out. Those GISP results I referred to would be needed for the Haru Superbanzuke.

You might have missed the Hatsu Banzuke for GISP. This banzuke, like the recently published Salarycap Banzuke were included for the Hatsu Superbanzuke.

As Doitsuyama posted, the Superbanzuke is based on game banzuke, and not directly on game results. Therefore it is not entirely correct to say that the missing GISP results are needed for the Haru Superbanzuke. For the Haru Superbanzuke we would need the Haru GISP banzuke. While this sounds like hair-splitting, it could be that the GISP Haru Banzuke is identical to the GISP Hatsu Banzuke, in particular if the final results can never be determined.

The meta-game including game results is the Masters Series. Once we have GISP results for January I will determine the Hatsu Masters Series (including the winner of the Green Mawashi).

I dont want to splt hairs(Hares maybe) but I dont understand why I score more points for Fantasy sumo than I do Juryo game when I am the highest ranking player in JG. :-P

Is this a mistake or have I misunderstood the points system?

Top position = 42 base points (plus a sanyaku bonus, IIRC). Those base points get multiplied by the square root of the number of players. The FS banzuke is much larger than that of JG, so that multiplier is higher and so is the final score in your case.

Ok I think I have that now.

I didn't know number of players was a factor aswell.

Great work, indeed. (Being unsure...)

Am I right that with The Kyushu Basho 2007 SB Masters Series calculated and published you could also close 2007 World Championship?

It looks like you want to hold especially lazy people (lazy to do own calculations) in suspense. (Whistling...)

(And by the way, in Hatsu 2008 GISP I have mistakenly used shikona Ruziklan instead of Ruziklao. It's me, somehow my fingers slipped... (Spooky TV program...))

No, it's just that I was too lazy busy last week to do the HTML conversion. I'll do that on the weekend, and send the files to Gusoyama on Monday.

Yep, I already noticed that when I took a look at the top of the GISP Standings (still only after day 14).

Oh, and today I computed the Hatsu Masters (without GISP for now). And I am pretty certain who is going to win the Green Mawashi - certainly very nice news for that particular person ;-). Is there someone who feels like he is spoken to now (Being unsure...)?

Isn't it always very nice news for the winner? ;-) By the way, what do you think about still sending me the stuff too, and I'll upload it as a mirror of Gusoyama's?

And... it's really really great to see this live on beyond my time, thanks to your efforts! Really great work! (Being unsure...)

Cheers!

Z.

Ladies and gentlemen,

we are slowly approaching present time. Thanks to Gusoyama's efforts I proudly present the Final Standings of the Sumo Gaming World Championship 2007. Not all images are exactly the way they are supposed to be (there is still a picture with the chalice and a huge 2006 logo, and the more recent photos from Jejima and me aren't there), but apart from that everything looks just splendid. Check your standings in the World Championship, and if you miss your photo on the page, send one to me!

I have just uncovered that Hatsu GISP results are online. Congratulations to my compatriot Misisko! (Clapping wildly...)

My photo is missing from the Nagoya 2007 results (Masters Series) for winning Rotosumo. I sent a photo to Randomitsuki at his request at the time.

Properties gives the URL as w w w.strongoak.net/sb/fukurou.jpg

I am shocked that a 9-6 in Norizo Cup brought me a 1.5-rank demotion! How weird is that?

While this little tidbit of gaming tragedy might be of very little interest to anybody but myself, it serves as a nice introduction to the very announcement that all crucial game banzuke have arrived, all of them were processed to determine the Haru Superbanzuke, and the corresponding file was uploaded promptly by Gusoyama (thanks for that!).

Here it is!

Norizo has taken the Yokozuna East spot again. This time quite decisively.

Frinkanohana has returned to the sanyaku ranks. Ekigozan left them (I don't have the details at hand, but I think he's out of sanyaku for the first time in eternity).

And we have two shin-Makuuchi!! :-O

A great and warm welcome to Bafa and Kaiowaka, the 101st and 102nd player ever to reach the lofty top 42 in this particular competition.

I must say I'm very surprised and very pleased to hold my Sanyaku spot despite last bashos pitiful performance.

Thanks Randomitsuki! (Neener, neener...)
