Japan News uses a cookie to count the number of articles you have read.  It allows a certain number before it puts the subscription squeeze on you.  If you delete its cookie, the count starts from scratch. Many other news services do the same thing. I use the free program ccleaner to manage my cookies. Use Options/cookies to flag which cookies to keep and which to delete.
