shumitto 418 Posted August 15, 2011 Sorry for not replying faster but I was on a nice internet-less vacation. Just send the whole list, I can manage easily myself to find the missing dates. If you don't have the rikishi-ID I would like to have something to make an easy ID of the rikishi though (like last shikona plus birth date). I hope you've enjoyed your vacations. I have sent to the e-mail adress given on the DB website a very short list with the date of the death of rikishi I've not seen on the DB. I can send you the rest but I think you have got most of what I have.
shumitto 418 Posted November 14, 2011 Isamizuki's (9101) real name is listed in English as MIAYAZAKI, but in Japanese it says 宮崎.
Asashosakari 18,849 Posted November 14, 2011 Isamizuki's (9101) real name is listed in English as MIAYAZAKI, but in Japanese it says 宮崎. And even "Miyazaki" may be slightly wrong.
Fay 1,677 Posted December 2, 2011 Just wanted to tell you all that the Sumo Reference is used by a lot of rikishi and definitely by all mongolian rikishi (cause the english site is a lot easier for them to read). (First prize...) They were a bit surprised to hear that it's the creation of a foreign fan. Also Wakamisho said that he misses his picture in the database. This reminds me that I owe Doitsuyama a lot of pics for the younger ones. Ganbarimasu!
Senkoho 552 Posted December 2, 2011 I think Myogiryu deserves a more recent picture :)

Doitsuyama 1,173 Posted March 23, 2012 Shironoryu has a japanese name in the NSK site Oh, thanks for seeing that - I actually had it updated in my files since September 2009, but somehow I must have forgotten to update the database.

Randomitsuki 2,768 Posted March 30, 2012 I have a feeling that I ask for the impossible, but still... When I saw Yubinhaad's kimarite statistics, I was wondering whether it would be possible to link Sumoreference query outputs to video links. What a treat it would be to see, say, all eight kakenage from Haru Basho in a row... Any way this could be done?

Orion 431 Posted May 27, 2012 Agreed! This is amazing! And have you ever made a single euro/yen/dollar/pound nadonado out of it? What do we have to pay you to make use of this treasure? Perhaps add to the summary page?
Doitsuyama 1,173 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) Is there a summary of which basho have how many videos? Perhaps add to the summary page? Done. Edit: Actually, this list was available before with this query, or similar. You can modify the query in many ways (group by division etc), so this is a more complicated way, but also more flexible. Meyeryu 2 Posted May 30, 2012 Great work, as always. (Applauding...) But there is one little thing. It's two years ago that the height and weight of the rikishi were updated. Are there any new updates in the near future ? P.S.: Oh, another thing. Is it possible to sort the rikishi of one basho by age, weight, heya etc., maybe in the Text-only Banzuke ? Asashosakari 18,849 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) P.S.: Oh, another thing. Is it possible to sort the rikishi of one basho by age, weight, heya etc., maybe in the Text-only Banzuke ? How about this? And for some things there's also this. Edit: While I'm at it, could career-high rank be added to the Rikishi Details on Query.aspx? Doitsuyama 1,173 Posted May 30, 2012 Edit: While I'm at it, could career-high rank be added to the Rikishi Details on Query.aspx? Career high rank for the whole career or until the basho? Also, editing posts with links doesn't seem to be a good idea here. Corrected links from your post are here and here. Could you still correct the links as the queries are getting a bit big? Asashosakari 18,849 Posted May 30, 2012 Career high rank for the whole career or until the basho? Preferably both, of course. ;-) Whole-career is the one I find myself needing more often though. And I wasn't sure if career-to-date is easily handled since it's potentially a moving target in the bashos covered by a query. Also, editing posts with links doesn't seem to be a good idea here. Sorry about that, I forgot about that issue. Fixed now.

Doitsuyama 1,173 Posted May 30, 2012 I have some old poor quality videos of lower division bouts from various basho (2004~2006). Should I just post them here? Not necessary. But if they were public I could read your feed and grab them automatically...

Andreas21 183 Posted June 6, 2012 I found a tiny tiny issue in SumoReference: A number of bouts indicated as yasumi by Kimarite have the symbol for Hikiwake although there is even a symbol hoshi_yasumi.gif for this purpose. here for instance
