She graduated from Mongolian state university and then came to Japan for language studies, where the 2 met in Aug. 2014, as he was in makushita - he tells it was love at first sight, they exchanged contact addresses at once. She returned to Mongolia in 2015 and got a job at the Mongolia-Japan human resources development centre. Since Natsu 2016 they have a relation. Kintamayama 45,484 Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) Ryuuden(28) has announced his engagement to a 33 year old nurse, Ai Fukumaru (? Ai am guessing..), fulfilling the age old obligation for a sekitori to marry an older woman (Wow, excessive punning even for me..). The ceremony will be held on the 9th of June at that Tokyo Hotel. "It's a new start. I will train even harder.. etc.. etc.." said Ryuuden. "He is a kind and considerate person. As I am a nurse, I want to take good care of him, including health-wise," she said. "She makes me feel at ease and has a beautiful smile.." he summed. Edited February 1, 2019 by Kintamayama 1

Kintamayama 45,484 Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) He calls her Maicha and she calls him Odenkun and they met in 2015. He bought her a 1 carat diamond engagement ring. "It cost me about 2-3 months of my wages (around 5 million yen), but I got some kensho, so.." he said. She is not pregnant but they want one child. That’s Mt. Fuji in the background, not my laundry, if you know what I'm saying.. Edited February 1, 2019 by Kintamayama

Churaumi 743 Posted February 1, 2019 Interview speak is pretty much limited to “sou desu,” “gambarimasu,” and “I’m sorry for (insert hazing, abuse or crime here).

If Japanese law actually allowed sekitori to patent their sumo brand, they could sue each other for "non-incidental use of uwatenage in a torikumi" or "flagrant and persistent use of daeshi techniques." Wouldn't that add to the enjoyment of sumo?

( I married a nurse myself and does anyone have any idea how many times I have to wash my hand per day? Ryu won't believe it. ) Edited February 2, 2019 by robnplunder

She is the daughter of a friend of an individual koenkai member. It was love on first sight when they dined together in 2013 at an invitation of this member. They started a relation about one year later, she also was there to support him when he dislocated his shoulder in Nagoya 2014 and went kyujo. http://www.hochi.co.jp/sports/sumo/20170828-OHT1T50142.html He had planned to marry her and the child was the trigger to do it. Churaumi 743 Posted February 11, 2019 Is that a sword they are cutting the cake with?
Yamanashi 3,888 Posted February 12, 2019 6 hours ago, Churaumi said: Is that a sword they are cutting the cake with? Probably. I've seen a few pictures of Japanese weddings (the Western part) where the bride and groom cut the huge cake with a sword. This is not uncommon in England and the US, especially when the bride or groom has a military background. Supposedly, the increased stiffness of cake icing on the first tier (to hold up the phenomenally tall cake) led to the bride and groom combining their strengths to puncture the icing.
