Worthy threads wanted for Sumo Information

10 posts in this topic

Dear Forumers!

As you probably know, Sumo Information sub-forum is designed to house valuable and very interesting threads, full of information that does not age easily. Just recently, Gaijin guide has been moved there.

If you think some other thread from Ozumo (or perhaps Honbasho) sub-forum rightfully belongs in Sumo Information, let us know in this thread! Reasons for nominations are welcome, but not necessary. Links are mandatory, though. (Holiday feeling...)

I especially invite Forum old-timers to remember some, perhaps neglected, but very informative thread. Let us bring dusty knowledge to the surface!

Thank you.

A few more...

http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=97 (2002)

http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=981 (mid-2003)

http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=1919 (end of 2003)

And while looking for those, I stumbled upon Sekitori and drinking...not very high-brow (no pun intended), but might be interesting enough in a human-interest way for inclusion.

Kimarite stats thread with links now open. :-)

Sake-tori thread still under consideration. (Sad goodbyes...)

Another set of threads worthy to collect: Doitsuyama's strength analysis

http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3624 (back to 1973)

http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=6775 (back to 1927)

http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=9906 (back to 1927, updated for 2006)

Edit: BTW, how about linking a full list of all basho trackers in Sumo Information? Exil only keeps the most recent six in the stickies, which is fine for an overview, but maybe having a complete listing somewhere could be useful, too.

All three Doitsu's threads moved.

Thread with links to Basho trackers (going back to Hatsu 2005, search didn't find anything older... Exil?) also opened.

Many thanks for digging these up. (In a state of confusion...)

Everything can be found at Doitsuyama's ( (In a state of confusion...) )

But I would like to have a tread with the full banzuke/ banzuke gai rikishi's results of each Basho here, I mean the overview like the "results of day 15" on the NHK page. All in one tread without members post's between- like a lexicon. But that's a lot of work and I don't want to force anybody to do it. I would die.... (I am not worthy...)

As long as we're wishing wishes...

If some kind compulsive soul with too much time on hands is willing, compilation of pre-2005 basho trackers would be... yes.

Do you mean something like Hakkeyoi.net's combined banzuke and results pages, just for all divisions? I suspect something like that may become available outside the forum in the not-too-distant future...

Anyway, perhaps another thread for inclusion in Sumo Information: Famous rikishis' sons

Bumpity-bump. If you think some worthy info-full thread is in danger of being lost in Honbasho or Ozumo subforums, do nominate. Maybe we should do a "Scandals Index" or something. (I am not worthy...)
