Guest gcarcass Posted December 4, 2006 Hello: I'm a graphic designer, member of the visual communication department at Ohashi Campus of Kyushu University in Japan. Currently me and a colleague are working on a multimedia project related with the interaction of people with a touch screen. Ok...ok...What da' hell has to do this with sumo? Well, we chose SUMO as a "visual metaphor" for what we are looking for, I wish I could tell you more now, but we are working under some kind of privacy policy, not TOP SECRET otherwise I wouldn't be telling you all this. But As soon as we have some "working prototype" I will show it to you. But for now, please understand that we cannot tell you more. What WE NEED are images references. Anyone knows a website, or how to get images in internet representing the fighting techniques of sumo, I know that the web is full of images, but we are looking for more "schematics representation", the kind of "instructions" not photographs, hopefully not only from the fighting, but since entering the Dohyo until leaving it. If the images are actually photographs as long as they are able to repsent clearly all the steps of sumo, it would be great. Maybe there is no single collection of images, but if many people can give us links we can trace them and compile them. We would really appreciate your help and links, or better images!! but with the links we would be very happy. Thanks in advance. P.S. You may be be thinking, WHAT!? these guys leave in Japan and are in a visual design laboratory and cannot get sumo images by themselves, well... the paradoxes of life, je je je. Anjoboshi 2 Posted December 4, 2006 I'm not sure if I understood you right, but did you try the kimarite site of the Nihon Sumo Kyokai? http://sumo.goo.ne.jp/eng/kimarite/index.html There is also a site (?) with animated images of the kimarites (visualized with little cartoon characters), I think Moti's website has a link to it ...
