Blogs & Japanese

Recommended Posts

I guess it means that there are now three makuuchi rikishi who write their own blogs. Futeno, Miyabiyama and Toyonoshima. Then of course Tochiazuma too actually.

I moved this Kaikitsune's post here as it would be off-topic in the main area.

I was reading somewhere that out of all blogs on net, 34% are in English and 31% are in Japanese.

This is an amazing number as people who write in English include quite a few non-native English speakers as well as those from USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to name a few solid English speaking countries.

And of course in Japan in addition to "public" blogging, there are more people writing their blog in an invitation only Japanese version of MySpace and one of the most popular sites in Japan. I happen to know a few members here who belong to it as well as those who are in Ozumo world.

In Japan a lot of people read and write blogs from their cellphone and you know the users are everywhere in Japan, just get on any commuter train, sometimes fully half of the people in the car are reading, writing blogs.

I really do think blogging can be addictive and once you are in, you can't get out of it regardless of how you are doing otherwise in the rest of your life. Just take a look at Futeno.

How about you, Jonosuke-san?

I really do enjoy writing my own blog.

I made so many friends through my blog.

That's great for me!

Addictive?

Maybe yes, maybe no, but it a part of my daily life.

At the same time, I'm sure that someday I'll quite.

I was thinking of the same thing about sumo but have not found any to replace it. Actually blogs are enhancing the joy of sumo for me especially when I can read Gacktoh san's and Amida san's blog.

Having access to this forum or website related to sumo, I can share the knowledge and be among others with the same interest and can be comforting.

I don't think I ever quit this endeavour until I get to meet that holy man in the mountain, Lord Kinta of Mayama (Holiday feeling...)

(Neener, neener...)
