    Sanshos for unbasho

I am confused by qualifying word untimely. Please, could you elaborate on this as from the record, judging by the current standards, the promotion seems just fine to me. But numbers are not all and also standards have evolved over time.

    Takanoyama Promotion?

Empty spaces would also save some money, I guess.

    Haru basho IS canceled!

In my outsider view there is a big difference between gambling and yaocho scandals, implying the possibility/need to cancel the basho. Gambling scandal was about something external, not affecting the integrity of the competition, no matter how important it is. The bouts were believed to be fair. Now the yaocho scandal directly jeopardizes integrity of the competition, it is more-or-less proved that some results are plainly rigged. And this means any basho, whether public or private, would be meaningless at least in some respects. It is necessary to investigate the extent of cancer and find the right cure and that needs more than a few weeks remaining. Then, the point about cooperativeness of rikishi made by someone is so witty and bitter at the same time...

    Yaocho by mobile scandal-

With all this mess I think there are not many words about real victims of such club approach of Juryo. What about makushita rikishi denied promotion recently because of yaocho in Juryo, in spite of their promotable records? Is it possible to identify anybody with such bad luck? Is there any possibility (however improbable) they could claim any damages from club members?

Although I am afraid he already has blown his best chance of life in this year Nagoya... nevertheless... Takanoyama go (In a state of confusion...) !!!

    Seki-Quad commentary for Aki 2010

Not yet makekoshi... but let's be realistic - to get 3-0 in the last three days is a kind of rare... (Neener, neener...)

    Seki-Quad commentary for Aki 2010

Well, another player is so far trailing Susanoo only a bit, namely myself. :-( 4x4+1x3+5x2=29 wins at 5-5. After all, "bad luck" is perhaps the only category I am good at :) ... so that I even think it is not just bad luck, but lack of strategy appropriate for S4.

    Salarycap Sumo Aki 2010

Somehow I cannot access banzuke for Nagoya and Aki 2010, as well as results for Natsu and Nagoya 2010. The dropdown boxes do not have appropriate entries.

    Norizo Cup Stats

Does anybody know the meaning of all columns of the table on the following page? http://norizo.sumogames.jp/php-bin/total.php?lang=en More specifically I do not understand meaning of AB, WC, LC. Also I have no idea how to earn a sansho - SHK, KAN, GIN. Finally, I thought ENT should be = KK + MK, but it does not work either (ok, it does work for a few people, most surprisingly for Randomitsuki, so use of random numbers is not ruled out...). I suppose more information might be gathered from Japanese version, but it is not something I could read. (Sign of approval...) http://norizo.sumogames.jp/php-bin/total.php

    Seki-Quad commentary for Nagoya 2010

It is not totally over yet and my result is disastrous (as usually), but I think it was overall extremely interesting basho for S4. Although the scores are low, many unusual strategies have been tried.

    Seki-Quad commentary for Nagoya 2010

No, they are not. It is easy to miss a day. This is indeed interesting new twist of the (now) old game. It is always claimed in Asashosakari's comments that missing day is not so big problem in S4. Now it would be even more interesting as everyone would be obliged to and perhaps the plays on the initial days would be more scarce before seeing real form of real rikishi.

New Odd Sumo Banzuke (Natsu 2010)

Absolutely agreed. Notice the first two appearances - very cautious player Andoreasu is there with 14 twice. He is following his cautious strategy since then, earning him a few Big Calm awards on the way, of course, with well earned KKs. Up to now it was a possible strategy in line with rules to stop at 14 and kudos to everyone using it to their advantage. But it is clearly a loophole and should be closed. My preferred approach is the Asashosakari's last one - penalize by twice the points missing from 15 ante spent. But penalization by once the points missing from 15 is fine as well after all.

Seki-Quad daily commentary for Haru 2010

If I remember correctly, I have just left persistence watch as it is my very first KK in S4. Saved at the last moment... Thank you for all the comments. P.S. After writing above I have checked it on http://www.sumogames.com/Golynohana/QUAD/Q...ecordsPage.aspx to find that I am wrong, this is already my second KK (Neener, neener...) , but I have decided to leave the comment as it was written to preserve the mood I was in during basho. Now (Laughing...)

Le Carnage al Orange de Chaingangage

After all, it is possible to have carnage-less Chain-Gang basho, with all days seeing departure of reasonably small part of survivors.

Intai in (almost) all sumo games

Sorry, only just read this! Of course you may remain a member of the BSYDC for as long as you wish to remain a member :-) I even have heard that in real life Ozumo none of YDC members is active rikishi, right? (Yusho winner...)
  21. Zealous commenting of own success is perhaps a norm, but there are some differences. I cannot stand Slovak commentary of almost anything, it is so much biased. On the other hand, I find Czech commentary quite balanced, impartial. Czechs give credit where the credit is due and are able to emphasize interesting points, without being overly off-flow. As a result whenever there is choice I prefer the latter. Even when we stand against Czechs (like the last night at Olympics, ice-hockey), I prefer Czech commentary.

Yokozuna Asashoryu Scandal - The Final Chapter

Oh well then, my assessment totally missed the point. (In a state of confusion...) Completely different culture... ... but this is exactly big part of why I follow sumo - fascination by the different culture. Thanks for enlightening unitiated.

Yokozuna Asashoryu Scandal - The Final Chapter

But that "too drunk to remember" does not sound to me like "hinkaku"... (Shaking head...) So in any case, settlement or not, there is not much difference in my view, but well, I have never been to Japan. (In a state of confusion...) (Sign of approval...) ?

    Suppose Baruto....

Many have - I suppose as your posts of this kind are insightful. (Clapping wildly...) Here, however I do not fully agree. The possibility of somebody winning back-to-back (BTB) yusho if yokozuna is not around does not depend on ozeki status. In fact, with 5 ozeki chances are higher than with 3 ozeki that somebody of ozeki actually takes BTB yusho. Hm?
