Better late than never, right? I don't know if I'll be able to continue this game much longer but I've finished compiling the results for this basho. Congratulations to Flohru who wins his 13th yusho (wow!) by a substantial margin over Tenshinhan who wins the jun-yusho. The BB code tables looked better but this is what I can do for now. Maybe I'll figure out something better for next time or maybe someone else will take over. Thank you for your continued dedication to this game. You are what motivates me to keep at it.

Finally, I have found the time and energy to input your entries and compile the results. Achiyama won convincingly with a 4 point margin. It is his first yusho since Natsu 2013 and his 2nd since I began compiling the results. The BB code tables looked better than what I get just pasting in my excel table but this will have to suffice for now. I'll try to figure out a better way if I get a chance. Thanks for your participation and I sincerely regret not being able to provide the daily standings as I have for past basho. Itachi

This is the thread for the Pick The Yusho Winners (PTYW) game for Aki 2016.Until further notice, the game will run just as it has the last several times. I will compile the results and post them as best as I can on this thread. This is a pre-basho game where each player selects a rikishi from each of 8 sections of the banzuke. The player earns points for each win, each kachikoshi, and each yusho earned by their team of 8 rikishi. The sections of the banzuke are these:Sanyaku (Y through K)MaegashiraJuryoUpper Makushita (Ms1-15 ) (not including any tsukedashi of any rank)Lower Makushita (Ms16-60 plus tsukedashi if any - including Ms 10 or 15)SandanmeJonidanJonokuchiThat's it! Simple to understand, difficult to master. The hallmarks of any engaging game. Please send your 8 selections to me before the beginning of action on Shonichi.Itachi: nmatsuo@shaw.ca or by pm here at the forumAs a reminder, I am only a temporary caretaker of this game until Oshirokita can address the reconstruction of his system. All banzuke, website, and records updates will be on hold until then but the game itself and results postings will continue here on this thread.Good luck with your picks.

Here is the banzuke for Aki 2016. My work situation has changed and I have less time for sumogames. If I can't post tables efficiently, I may have to retire from my game admin duties. Maybe I will figure it out over the weekend. If anyone feels motivated to assist, I would be happy to share my excel worksheets - even happy to update them and send them off to anyone who could post them in a suitable fashion. Anyway, even if I can't find a way to post regular updates, I can and will continue to input your entries, compile the results, and make the corresponding adjustments to the rankings. Thank you for continuing to play the game through these difficulties. Sd Game banzuke Aki 2016.xls

The tables are updated with the final results. Somehow, I, Itachi, have finished with the best record and I must award myself the yusho. Torafujii takes the jun-yusho. This is my 7th yusho in this game and my first since Hatsu 2014. I finished first in all categories except kachikoshi. Torafujii and Randomitsuki tied for the lead in that category with 12 while four other players including myself finished with 11. Thanks to everyone for playing. Thanks also for your patience as I had hardly any time to update the results during this basho. Until September, Itachi

The Sandanme Game will run again for Nagoya 2016. Here is the usual invitation: For the Sandanme Game, please send me your list of 15 rikishi from the usual segments of the banzuke. Sd 1-5/6-10/11-15/16-20/21-25/26-30/31-35/36-40/41-45/46-50 51-60/61-70/71-80/81-90 and 91-100 Your rikishi earn points for each win, for a kachikoshi record, for leading their group, and a bonus for the best scoring rikishi on each team based on how close they were to the yusho winning record. The result is adjusted so that the best possible score gets a 15-0 result. The drone Mirai knows the future and always selects the best rikishi in each group. This shows us what the best possible score would be at each stage of the game. The drone Genzai picks the most popular rikishi from each group. This drone has tended to score well. The drone Mukashi picks the rikishi in each group who had the best record last basho. This drone isn't expected to score well but sometimes surprises us. Send your entries to me at nmatsuo@shaw.ca before any of your selections enter the dohyo for their match (and preferably a few hours before that).

The tables are updated with the final standings. Tenshinhan and Kuroimori have tied for the lead and will share the yusho! It was difficult for me to find time to compile results this month so I appreciate your patience. I look forward to receiving your entries again in September when hopefully I will have more time to post regular updates.

Here at last are some results - see the tables above. I grabbed the data just before the Juryo bouts for tonight so there are Day 6 results for Jonokuchi through Makushita. That represents 5/8 of our teams so I called it Day 5.625 for the tables. Unfortunately, I will be away from my computer and possibly without internet access for a few days so Days 7,8,9,10 may go without updates. Gurowake has the lead today. Thanks to everyone for your participation and your patience.
