Banzuke where you can see win-loss records between rikishi

I didn't notice any other incorrect ranks in this banzuke. But the tsukedashi in past banzukes, have the same issue and don't show up in the Dashboard's banzuke. Here are the lists of makushita and sandanme entrants that could be of help: https://sumodb.sumogames.de/Rikishi.aspx?shikona=&heya=-1&shusshin=-1&b=-1&high=-1&hd=-1&entry=7&intai=-1&sort=6 https://sumodb.sumogames.de/Rikishi.aspx?shikona=&heya=-1&shusshin=-1&b=-1&high=-1&hd=-1&entry=8&intai=-1&sort=6

Banzuke where you can see win-loss records between rikishi

Fixed now. It was due to the tsukidashi rikishi's data. I looked at the data and a lot of tsukidashi's ranks are "east" instead of "TD", I'll notify @thatsumoguy about this

Well, Onomatsu-beya did exist during Omisaki's tenure, but when exactly the heya opened and closed is unclear. I guess that's the reason it's not recorded in the DB. But at least the heya seems to have existed between 1904.05 and 1918.01 after looking into Ryugasaki - whose entire active career attached to Onomatsu[6], according to Takayama: https://web.archive.org/web/20150924015856/http://www.fsinet.or.jp/~sumo/profile/1/19100105.htm
  10. The only portrait with no info seems to be of Chibagatake. He looks identical to the man in an this old photo (Kasugano), for sale along with other photos. I've seen similar ones on that site of the same time period - https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/u1178276012 After retiring, Chibagatake became a shisho under the Kasugano name and adopted his nephew Kimura Soshiro as his son, who later adopted Tochigiyama the one who made Kasugano-beya prosperous

Now there's a toggle for only showing past-6-basho matchups, like you see in the NHK broadcast

Banzuke where you can see win-loss records between rikishi

The site was updated along with many improvements. Check it out!
  19. I came across a digitized version of a book published in 1886 that features biographies of popular rikishi from the period. Alongside the biographies, there are illustrated portraits of the rikishi that look to have been referenced from the photos above. This was useful for identifying most of the people pictured. I labeled the photos in the OP: Not shown in the HuffPost article: Takamiyama

Thanks for taking the time to add the names, Mr Doitsuyama. I see that you forgot to add Tamawashi's on the English side

I could find 3 other Mongolian rikishi who've changed their names: Hakuho (using his shikona), Terunofuji (Suginomori Seizan 杉野森 正山) and Tamawashi (shikona). Sources:
  22. 12 years ago Minatogawa-oyakata had made the same mistake but looks like he wasn't punished. A year after that, he was replaced as shimpan to join the competition inspection committee. Maybe he was a better shimpan than Asahiyama. Kyushu 2012 day 9 - Goeido vs Harumafuji There was torinaoshi

Inami beat Michihaya in 2024.01 maezumo but but their hoshitori shows the opposite happening. Because of this, a query shows Michihaya as the only rikishi with 4 wins in maezumo.

On the Haru 1913 banzuke, Umegatani should be the haridashi-yokozuna not Tachiyama, they're switched in the DB (seems like it was hositori's mistake originally). Due to this, it seems that their shikona given names swapped for that basho too (This is what made me investigate). I found the real banzuke on this site https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e1159595558
