When contemplating a (not obvious) yokozuna promotion, is the low number of active Ozekis ever a factor? Or do they have nothing against Y-O?

I think he doesn't aim for KK, but rather for whatever score will be enough to not send him to juryo immediately.

In terms of age all of them are more or less his peers, Toyohibiki even being slightly older. Of course rankings hierarchy and everything, but still... I doubt he was a mentor figure for them.

Somehow possibility of appearance of sekiwake named Ichinojo after this basho makes me very uncomfortable.

I haven't read the artcle, but the 約7日 part could easily mean "approximately till day 7". Which is not completely lacking sense, because initially there was no 100% info that he won't appear on day 7. ... Well, after reading the article it seems more like "7 days" after all. Interesting, Anyway, if he is well, I'm glad.
