    Dallas Sumo Club - Mighty Eagle Sumo Team Tournament Highlights (October 16, 2021) American rikishi descended from across the Untied States to take part in Mighty Eagle Sumo's first ever Team Tournament in San Antonio, TX! In the first part of this video we shot, you'll see the "team tournament" segment, the second part covers the "openweight" portion of the tournament as well as some bonus footage and an interview with the openweight gold medalist and a few shout-outs from the silver and bronze medalists, plus a slew of random goings-on.     Dallas Sumo Club - Keiko Highlights (October 10, 2021) Albert Martinez gets more solid with every keiko, he's been watching a lot of Haramafuji videos and boy does it show! Dakota Eggert really broke through his self-imposed wall today embraced tenacity, resulting in some dominate wins and (Oyakata) Corey Morrison worked on his tsuppari attacks and tawara defense. We were visited and observed by some members from Dallas Kiyari Daiko (taiko drum group) and life-long ōzumō fan, Keiko Suzuki, got to live her dream of being a gyōji for the day!

    Dallas Sumo Club - Yamageiko Highlights (October 6, 2021) We were joined this morning by local publication the "Oak Cliff Advocate"; thank you to journalist Rachel Stone & photographer Jessica Turner for covering our club and the rise of sumo in Dallas, TX! Sean Byrd yet again pulled some amazing throwing kimarite, but at times the slippery morning dew became his biggest enemy. Drew Bramlett worked on tuning his tsuppari and ring-sense. Khalil Collins went mawashi-less today and stuck to an oshi-zumo style. Jared (Osuushigishi) Tadlock returns with a vigor for combat after a week off, still training hard at home. (Oyakata) Corey Morrison walked the tawara like a bridge at first, but was overcome in the center of the dohyō.

    Dallas Sumo Club - Keiko Highlights (October 3, 2021) Things got highly aggressive and exciting at the ranch this keiko! Sean Byrd had some excellent throwing kimarite and highly effective tsuppari. Albert Martinez impresses with his mastery of sumo basics, always low and moving forwards. Drew Bramlett had some serious breakthroughs and really tapped into his fighting spirit. Nemo Davies gave it his absolute all and then some until his body could withstand no more. Jonathan (Hananooni) Flowers was relentless in his pursuit of grappling and thirst for battle. (Oyakata) Corey Morrison rallied the cowpokes and led foes to the tawara like a kappa lures their prey to the water.

    Dallas Sumo Club - Keiko Highlights (September 26, 2021) Stephen Pretto, a long-time ōzumō fan, showed up for keiko and brought Roy Corr along with him; the pair put in hard work and adapted well to their first time in the dohyō. Kirby Reyes also joined in his first sumo practice, he has a background in jiu jitsu and judo. He held his own and resisted our attacks well. Connor Phalon makes his triumphant return to the ring; literally picking up where he left off! Albert Martinez joins us for the warm-ups and suriashi, but had to leave for the battle begun; showing his dedication to the basics. Nemo Davies clashes with his strong tachiai and ups his ring sense. Drew Bramlett puts in his all despite a lingering injury, his spirit for combat radiates. Matt (Kurowashi) Jim sustains what we hope to be a minor calf injury while imposing his growing brand of sumo. Jared (Osuushigishi) Tadlock rolls through the basics and guide our kimarite session, while taking it easy due to a recovering injury; but then his warrior spirit awakened and he can't help but to strap a mawashi on and get to fightin'. (Oyakata) Corey Morrison takes a few good knocks to various limbs and joints, but keeps the club gambarized and pushes them forward.

    Dallas Sumo Club - Yamageiko Highlights (September 22, 2021) Another new cowpoke joins us in the dohyō for yamageiko, Sean Byrd let’s his tsuppari and martial arts background do the talkin’! Drew Bramlett asserts his brand of sumo while nursing an injury. Jonathan (Hananooni) Flowers demonstrates his ever expanding knowledge of kimarite and (Oyakata) Corey Morrison pulls some tricky tawara wins and spearheads the club to gamabarize early in the morning!

    Dallas Sumo Club - Keiko Highlights (September 19, 2021) Dallas-beya's newest sumotori, Albert Martinez came out of the gate swingin' on his first day. He's got a great tachiai and he's been a fan of ōzumō for some time now. Nemo Davies makes a triumphant return to the dohyō and works on his oshi-zumo style. Dakota Eggert leaves his mark on larger opponents with his iron skull. Khalil Collins let his stunning tsuppari fly. Matt (Kurowashi) Jim continues to master his basics and find his ring-sense. Jared (Osuushigishi) Tadlock teaches three basic kimarite and commands the ring. Jonathan (Hananooni) Flowers imparts his growing knowledge to our newest cowpokes and shows his staying power in some difficult bouts. (Oyakata) Corey Morrison dances along the tawara and helps the club gambarize. We were visited by YouTube vloggers EXCUSE ME DALLAS, they introduce Texas in Japanese.     Dallas Sumo Club - Yamageiko Highlights (September 15, 2021) Drew Bramlett returns for his second yamageiko and works on his sumo basics. His sense of the ring grows and he becomes a lot more difficult to move. Jared (Osuushigishi) Tadlock lives up to his honorary shikona and runs the gamut of ways to get one over on his opponent. (Oyakata) Corey Morrison hangs in for some more lengthy matches, refusing to back down.

    Dallas Sumo Club - Keiko Highlights (September 12, 2021) Matt (Kurowashi) Jim displays his best matches yet and works to find his brand of sumo. Jared (Osuushigishi) Tadlock reminds us of his status as heyagashira even after a week off from fighting. Dakota Eggert's body may still be small, but his heart is mighty and gives every single fight his all. Selasi Quashie returns to pull out some surprise wins again and works on his sumo basics. Khalil Collins puts his previous martial arts skills on display boldly and commands the dohyō, while still remaining the resident comedian. (Oyakata) Corey Morrison runs through a gauntlet of extended bouts while seemingly going down a checklist of possible maneuvers.

    Houston Open Sumo Tournament Highlights at Tokyo Night Festival (September 5, 2021) All four Texas sumo clubs met for a showdown at Tokyo Night Festival presented by Shun Japanese Kitchen and competed in Champion Sumo's first ever openweight tournament, put together by their very own Nicolas Ton! DALLAS SUMO CLUB (Dallas, TX), DARK CIRCLE SUMO CLUB (Austin, TX), MIGHTY EAGLE SUMO (San Antonio, TX) and CHAMPION SUMO (Houston, TX) waged a war on the dohyō surrounded by a mass of cheering Houstonian and visiting spectators.     Dallas Sumo Club - Yamageiko Highlights (September 1, 2021) The Dallas Morning News visited us this morning and Drew Bramlett makes his sumo debut, as a fan of ōzumō he easily picked up on what to do and when to do it! He has a powerful core and will make a promising sumōtori when his basics are established. Jonathan (Hananooni) Flowers unleashed his fighting spirit after a rough week. Jared (Osuushigishi) Tadlock executed the basics of sumo with second nature. (Okamisan) Siggy Sauer joined us as we went over the basics, to re-establish technique and (Oyakata) Corey Morrison took point and tried to gambarize where he could.     Dallas Sumo Club - Keiko Highlights (August 29, 2021) Dakota Eggert returns from injury with a fire for battle, throwing himself into the fight, bringing with him two first timers to sumo; Andreyah Flores debuted her power against her boyfriend and Selasi Quashie (Lightspeed Saber League Champion) used his wrestling experience to stand his ground and impress the group. Khalil Collins returns from a bout of sickness and even at 50% he's still as strong as two healthy folks. Matt (Kurowashi) Jim stood tall and continues to carve out his brand of fighting. Jonathan (Hananooni) Flowers never stops and is always encroaching like an antagonist in a slasher film. Jared (Osuushigishi) Tadlock was as cool, calculated and ridiculously lethal as usual. (Oyakata) Corey Morrison rallied the squadron and played the tawara like a ballerina.

    Dallas Sumo Club - Yamageiko Highlights (August 25, 2021) Wish we could get a few more cowpokes out to yamageiko on Wednesday mornings, it's a hoot to interact with folks passing by and asking "Are y'all are doin' sumo in TEXAS!?" Jared (Osuushigishi) Tadlock's technique and ring awareness wins him the day, but (Oyakata) Corey Morrison kept returning for more with a smirk on his face, hungry for battle!

Jonathan (Hananooni) Flowers drives forwards like there's no reverse and introduces his long time friend Chris Wagner to the dohyō. Matt (Kurowashi) Jim returns from injury with the strength of a mountain and (Oyakata) Corey Morrison ramps up the fury!
