Sad to see Daieisho and Hokotufuji in bad form. I'm still hopeful for another comeback from Hokotufuji, not so much for Daieisho. As always, I'm rooting for Takayasu. Today's bout was nothing spectacular or overly convincing sumo. Nonetheless, this bout had a few sideways twists of the back and it seems as if Takayasu didn't flinch at all and seemed rather "fluid" to me. I'm optimistically hopeful he'll stay healthy throughout the tournament.

I'm one of the rather silent consumers of this top notch sumo forum. Time to contribute, even if it's just mundane ramblings. I immensely enjoyed the Kitanowaka - Asanoyama bout today. If it weren't for the taping/sleeve on the arm, I couldn't tell Asanoyama still being injured these last two days. I'm happy to see that Hokutofuji doesn't seem to have taken the missed chance to win a tournament to heart in a negative way, instead going out with high energy and getting his revenge today. Always rooting for Hokutofuji as I find his style very entertaining.

I've been a big fan of Hokutofuji for a long time and I agree with him moving well these last few basho, but reading this about the former poster-child of "slippiotoshi" made me smile.

I think the matta was well justified. I agree, the gyoji are very inconsistant with calling out these matta, but Terunofuji is a constant repeat offender and in my opinion also the one who does it most blatantly.

Non-K-November basho 2020 Discussion (spoiler space)

Claim of waning interest in the Basho has forced me to abandon my lurking-only visits to this forum and add my 2 cents. To me, this is a very entertaining tournament. Not the least because of Hokutofuji. Fighting-spirit prize would be well deserved after these last three days. I'm also impressed by Takakeisho's performance, even though I'm not exactly a fan of his style. Some impressive pushing and thrusting on display. Ryuden "The Hip" is weird but it's obviously working for him. Ura in Juryo just makes me happy. And finally, it's great to see a comeback of the old Takayasu which originally got me back into Sumo after a loooong break from back in the olden Eurosport days. I greatly enjoy this basho, as do my two friends with whom I have a sumo conference call every other day. -

"Yushodai!" Also: something Shodai could say to his opponents before the match. -
I felt like his movement looked very good today. Not easy to defend against all that twisting and turning. The after-Matta bump didn't seem based in arrogance or annoyance to me, I guess he just didn't want to abruptly stop, considering the state his knees are supposedly in.
