    Haru Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

Based on these 2 days i would put my money on Goeido for the Yusho. Although Takayasu and Takakeisho are also looking good. Even Mita. Hakuho we never know. He might keep fighting like this and still get a 15-0... Tochinoshin is done as an Ozeki. As for Tamawashi, does he really want to be an Ozeki? At his age does he want to go through all the trouble and stress of being an ozeki? He has accomplished what he wanted in January and can now retire as a happy man.

Preparations of the Y/O Haru 2019

Agree. It is starting to look like one of those rikishi that stays in upper maegashira for years doing 9-6, 6-9 and doesn't really go anywhere.

Preparations of the Y/O Haru 2019

He does beat at least one Ozeki in every basho, so he might be taking something from it after all.

Preparations of the Y/O Haru 2019

Depends a bit of your Culture. As a South European I see no issue in using someone else's body to help exercising. Even in schools it is common to carry someone else as part of a gym class. Regarding the exercise itself, my question is more if it is actually beneficial what he is doing as the weight distribution is not 50 - 50. Unless what he was aiming to was to put more pressure in one side of his body.

    Some new rules..

Not joking, but are they also requested to cut pubic hair as a rule? Understand that asian people have less body hair (legs, chest, etc) than europeans or americans, but those mawashis don't cover much and you can't see any hair.

Preparations of the Y/O Haru 2019

They need to change the question for all Y/O from is he planning to enter to is he planning to finish the basho.

    February special one day tournaments

@Mitakeumi, you need to listen to Tochinoshin! He is doing exactly the same mistakes as Terunofuji did. Don't want to be wrong, but believe he also participate on this Fuji basho while injured.

Promotion/Demotion and Yusho discussion Hatsu 2019

He has been in upper maegashira for a while and always manages to beat at least one ozeki every time (ok, it's mostly Tochinoshin and he has never performed at ozeki level, since in the rank). He just needs to figure out how not to lose to lower ranks so often and then he can start putting double digits.

    Hatsu Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

He is out of Y / O to fight this basho, so no motivation any more. The only way he is ever going to win a yusho is if they put 15 people as Y / O on the banzuke.

    Hatsu Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

If you remove Hakuho from the picture and correct the gyoji's decision, the Y/O are now 1-14! Veeeery poor indeed.

    Terunofuji's health problems

The problem was not Teru. The problem was that Koto lost to a M3, a M1 and 2 SW. If he wanted to go back to OZ, then he shouldn't lose to lower rankers. Don't undestand the blame on Teru. And btw, the main problem is that anyone could pull an henka on Koto due to his fault, even you and me, so we shouldn't blame anyone for doing it.

    Harumafuji scandal thread- part 2

Ok. Thanks to let me know. I was convinced that it was also controlled by the NSK.

    Harumafuji scandal thread- part 2

If he is an official coach at Isegahama, shouldn't it appear in the JSA site (at least in English it doesn't)? http://www.sumo.or.jp/EnSumoDataSumoBeya/detail/3/

GTB January 2019 Hanukka edition and results!

If Kise gets the top spot (which for me makes no sense), then following the same logic, Tochi must be higher than Goeido.

Play. Makushita. Game. Now (Kyushu 2018)!

Thanks for fixing it Randomitsuki and Doitsuyama. This was the only game that I actually did well. Too bad I lost on the playoff :(

    Age limits

If you are referring to Osuna, he was already in amateur sumo and at an age where he could do the move to pro.

    Question Concerning Rank

He will need to do better than the other Ozeki. Only one can get a East side. The other 2 will be West as long as we have 3 Yok. I have nothing against Tochi, but can't understand all the hype around him. As I said here a few months ago, looking at both careers so far, Goeido is far better than Tochi. Yes, Tochi had a big injury, but before that he did nothing great and until early this year he was a mediocre wrestler. Goeido on the other hand has been playing with the big boys since 2012 and should get more credit for that. If Tochi is Ozeki material, I'm not convinced yet. Compared with Goeido, i believe there is more chances he puts 2 great basho together and is promoted to Yok and at the same time there is more chances he gets demoted next year.

    Takanoiwa hits his tsukebito

Out of curiosity, are there any known cases of a sekitori beating his tsuk and the tsuk reacts beating the crap out of the sekitori?

    Question Concerning Rank

Basically, Tochinoshin has always been O2W because he has never performed at Ozeki level since he was promoted to the rank. He doesn't deserve to be on the East side. The Goeido hatters will say differently, but numbers don't lie.

    Winter jungyo 2018

Is that guy in the back trying to fix whatever is wrong in Ichi's brain that makes him sleep for the first 8 days of each basho?
