The best gambles this basho were Chishafuwaku choosing Daieisho to beat Hakuho on day 2 and Oshirokita choosing Ryuden to beat Takakeisho today, both of you have some big balls.

The difference is that Yutakayama and Enho both knew they would play the stay back game so both weren't expecting each other to come forward anyway while Mainoumi and Kyokudozan were defensively prepared and expecting somewhat of a forward encounter from each other.

No one seen this? Watching Enho vs Yutakayama i was actually surprised with the gyoji declaring the first tachi ai a false start although he needed to hakkeyoi on the second to urge them to take action.

I as talking about a post bout slap that he does, in Hakuho's damage arsenal he mainly uses the slap to set up for the elbow just like the jab-straight in boxing and jab-elbow in muay thai. The elders are just worried Hakuho will start knocking everyone into concussions, i say screw the elders on their fake care for the sake of rikishi's health.

Hakuho did the same slap on Meisei, it just didnt land on Takarafuji but it was meant to. He's behaving and fighting without concern for the elders who try censure him.

This basho is as open as as the real one, lots of fun.

Tochinoshin's injury which is a rib cartilage fracture can occur even with a strong sneeze or cough, it's a matter of body position when the tension or torsion is released. Painfull and unlucky but not serious, heals in about a month or so without need of surgery.

Mitakeumi didn't want a head clash on the tachi ai and that cost him the match.

People seem to forget how good Harumafuji was even being so undersized, it's all about the skills and this generation has tons of it, like come on we got about six little guys in makuuchi and the big young guys are very skilled. I am glad to be born in this generation to follow this era of sumo.

Meisei has too much swagger and at the same time has a cool demeanor.

Looked like Tomokaze's kneecap ended up on the side of his knee, looks bad and is painfull but is not a career threatening if it is so.

Since the tachi ai is about using one's power forward you can end up over your center of balance with ease, if there's nothing to catch you just fall over. The secret is keeping the head alligned with your knees as much as possible so the body weight will always be centralized. Like the great Konishiki said, today is so easy to henka that it seems the rikishi are asking for it.

Crazy basho to play this game, i think it was more fun than when i got the yusho. Hopefully i will KK tomorrow, good luck to everyone on the yusho race and thank you Achiyama.

I'm so happy with sumo right now, a bunch of new guys that are actually good. I'm sure we won't see much of the same rikishi getting the yusho in the next couple of years until another Yokozuna is established. Mitakeumi, Takayasu and Takakeisho are my hopes.

No one talking about Tsurugisho? To me he is the standout performance of this basho, he looks pretty good technically, has a very strong lower body and got the brains too.

Tsurugisho has become one of my favorites, he is very smart and always has the right answer for adversity.

Roga actually would like to be introduced as russian, he spent a part of his childhood in mongolia but considere himself russian.

I completly forgot to submit for day 15, still was a fun basho to play.

I remember when him and Takakeisho came into makuuchi, people were saying that Takakeisho is the next Toyonoshima and Onosho is ozeki material. The times, they are changing.
