There are more things to consider than just results. Konishiki may well have been promoted if he was around now with that record, but as you say there are other considerations. A Yokozuna has to also lead with dignity. That's what I see with Kisenosato. People may not like his generally unsmiling stoic face, but I think he's actually showing a dignity acceptable to his rank. I don't know if he's religious or not, but I've always thought that his thanks to the gods after winning a bout seemed much more genuine. When he takes the envelopes he never over-does it. He seems to accept it with, again, thankfulness and respect. Appearances can count for a lot.

2017 Hatsu - THE UNDERDOG GAME (TUG) - ENTRY, TORIKUMI, STANDINGS
Sakura replied to Achiyama's topic in Sumo Games
I can help with the Banzuke. -
I was also very impressed by Gansekiiwa @Rocks. He beat me to the Roto Makushita Yusho . He was also very impressive on many of the games on the forum. Congratulations to him.
-
Makes sense. What sites would you recommend? I just assumed that no one would be playing so I wouldn't need such a thing.

First of all, I would like to thank @Senkoho, @Tenshinhan, @Pandaazuma, @Gaijingai, @Achiyama, @chishafuwaku, @Shokikogi, @kuroimori, @Ganzohnesushi, @shimodahito, @Randomitsuki and @PhorCillic for trying out the game. I really appreciate it. I hope you had a good time playing and that you will come back again next basho. I'd appreciate any feedback about improvements, as well as how to do promotions. Here are the results: Final Results Player Points TB Sakura 167 28 Senkoho 157 29 Tenshinhan 149 26 Pandaazuma 132 21 Gaijingai 126 27 Achiyama 125 24 chishafuwaku 111 19 Shokikogi 107 21 kuroimori 99 22 Ganzohnesushi 85 14 shimodahito 58 19 Randomitsuki 4 1 PhorCilic 2 1 So, congratulations to Sakura (me) for winning the yusho. I'm actually quite embarrassed by this . I thought given my previous TTT and TUG performances I'd have no chance of doing well, but I nearly won TUG and I won this. I hope you'll come back . I think I got lucky on some absurd picks that had no right to work out (like Gagamru for 7 points one day). The Jun-Yusho goes to Senkoho, who I though had an excellent tournament with lots of correct picks averaging almost 2 correct picks per day. The Other prizes: Kanto-sho: Highest number of correct picks goes to Senkoho Gino-sho Highest number of unique rikishi to get your score: (Will be edited in when I have calculated that one, but I wanted to get everything else out first) Shukun-sho: Highest average number of points per correct pick goes to Pandaazuma For the banzuke I'm using chishafuwaku's method of translating the points into W-L records. Banzuke Sakura (12-3) S Senkoho (12-3) Tenshinhan (11-4) K Pandaazuma (10-5) Gaijingai (9-6) M1 Achiyama (9-6) chishafuwaku (8-7) M2 Shokikogi (8-7) kuroimori (7-8) M3 Ganzohnesushi (6-9) shimodahito (4-11) M4 Randomitsuki (0-15) PhorCilic (0-15) M5

Hello, I need to create a banzuke for my game Break The Curse It'll be easy since it's the first time the game has been played, but for the future I would like to be able to move people up or down as appropriate. As you can see it is a points based game. Does anyone have any suggestions for turning points into a W-L record for banzuke making purposes? Thanks
-
The banzuke won't be a problem once I have the results translated into a W-L record. What I'm wondering is if anyone has any suggestions for taking the points of the game and turning them into a W-L record. Maybe the highest scoring points gets a 15-0. Maybe I calculate the hypothetical maximum number of points and assign that 15-0.

I would like to thank Hokutofuji, Takanoiwa and Ichinojo for my good results in Bench and Roto.
-
Well, it's a daily game for one. Also, you have to pick 3 rikishi to overcome losing records (in a head-to-head situation) e.g. picking Kisenosato to beat Hakuho would have scored you points since Kisenosato had the losing record. It's similar to, but different from, TUG and TTT. The points scored are the difference in head-to-head record.

There are a lot of trophies.

Thanks. And to add something to the conversation. I'm sad to Kotoshogiku demoted, but I really enjoyed the rare kimarite in the top two divisions. It was a really different experience watching this basho to the others. It had a much different feel to it. I seemed to get the impression of more excitement (not just because of Kise, but also I think people caught a glimpse of whom the top rikishi of the near future might actually be).

Day 15 is my birthday and I got what I wanted. A Kisenosato yusho .

Promotion/Demotion and Yusho discussion Hatsu 2017

Y2W. The promotees to Y and O always get the last slot. Is there any scenario which could see Toyonshima promoted? -
