Did Kakuryu's 3rd Yusho portrait also come down?

3. Aoiyama I also use a spreadsheet, but it's not that complicated. I have a list of all intra-sanyaku matchups which I then drag and drop to what I think are the right days. I can see if there is an error by comparing the names.

ages being no more than 30 minutes . I also enjoy putting intra-sanyaku matches together, so I'm delighted to be doing the Bench Makuuchi torikumi this time around.
-
I spent ages coming up with a good looking 15-day intra-sanyaku match-up list too.

I take it that you know that the non-interactive one is only correct for Makuuchi.

I wish I hadn't participated. It's my worst result for a while.

Which he did.

I don't know if I'm going to have time to do one this time around. I'm still jet-lagged and the Summer is busy. I didn't particpate last September and I don't want to have not participating affect my ranking. From the GTB website we have the following: The first kyujo has no effect on the ranking points - it will be treated as kosho. If you are absent consecutively for two bashos, the second kyujo counts as a zero. If you are absent consecutively for three bashos, the second and the third kyujo counts as a zero et cetera. After missing seven bashos in a row you will be unranked. Since I have not been absent since last year I am hoping that two absences in a 12-month span will be ok. Could people in the know confirm or not if that I will not lose any points if I am absent.

Welcome to Break The Curse (The Nigate Game) Thanks to @Athenayama who has volunteered to run the game this basho whilst I am away. It's an easy game to play, but you have to pick wisely. In this daily game, you have to choose three Makuuchi bouts where you think a rikishi with a losing head-to-head record against his opponent will win. Post you guesses either here with spoiler tags or PM me on this forum. Rules 1) Every day, choose three Makuuchi bouts listed for that same day. The bouts must follow this form: A) The first bout must contain a rikishi from Sanyaku (any bout with a Y/O/S/K can be chosen). B) The second bout must contain a rikishi ranked M1 through M8. C) The third bout must contain a rikishi ranked M9 or lower. A lower ranked Makuuchi rikishi against a Juryo rikishi can be chosen. 2) Some bouts will fit in multiple categories (e.g. a Y vs M1 bout can be chosen for the first or second bout). However, you may not choose the same bout twice (or more). If you do, the second (or third) instance of the bout will score you 0 points. 3) Any bouts that do not fit the criteria will not score points. 4) You will score points if the rikishi with the losing record in head-to-head wins. E.g. if RIKISHI A has a 30-20 winning record over RIKISHI B and RIKISHI B wins, then you score points. If RIKISHI A wins, then you score 0 points. 5) The number of points you score is calculated by the difference in head-to-head score prior to the bout. E.g. if RIKISHI A has a 30-20 winning record over RIKISHI B and RIKISHI B wins, then you score 30-20=10 points. These points are called base points. 6) When determining points, any previous bouts between the two rikishi that were in a playoff or decided by fusen do not count. I'll be using the head-to-head stats from the database, so if it gives a head-to-head of 5[-1]-8[+1], then that will be used as a 4-8 record in the calculations. 7) Fusen: If your rikishi wins by fusen, then you get half of all points (including the bonus points in rule 9) rounded up to the nearest integer. 8) The Kotoshogiku Rule. This rule has been named in honour of Kotoshogiku's extremely lopsided head-to-head result with Hakuho. The maximum number of base points on any match-up is 20. If RIKISHI A has a head-to-head winning record of 50-5 over RIKISHI B then the base points will be 20, not 45. 9) In addition to the points given as described above there will be an additional 3 points for picking a winning rikishi. This should make some of the lower scoring but low risk bouts more attractive to pick. 10) For any day, due to timezones, it may be that I cannot get to posting the points scores until well after the torikumi is out. You may choose to wait for me or calculate them yourselves. 11) Promotion Rules for Ozeki 33 wins over last three basho of which last two in Sanyaku. All those bahso must have a winning record. 30 wins over last three basho of which last two in Sanyaku. All those bahso must have a winning record. AND a Yusho in those three. 2 Yusho over the last three basho (last two basho in Sanyaku) or a Yusho/Jun-Yusho back-to-back combination (in Sanyaku) 12) Entry deadline is start of Juryo Winning The winner is the one with the most points and the end of the basho. The tiebreaker is decided by the bonus points system.

Thank you to @Athenayama for running the game in my absence. I appreciate it very much. I may hand out some prizes when I get back from holiday in 10 days (plus a jet-lag factor).

Does Hokutofuji count as being in the joi this basho? He did face both Komusubi.

Promotion/Demotion and Yusho Talk, Nagoya 2022
Sakura replied to Chartorenji's topic in Honbasho Talk
No. It's more about the rank-record combination. The fols at M17 needs 8 wins, but those at M15-16 need only 7 and those at M13-14 need 6. For Juryo it's 8 wins for J1 and 9 for J2-3 etc. Of course having a promotable record in Juryo doesn't mean that you will get promoted (see Hidenoumi last basho) and we often see rikishi in Juryo getting promoted without the `numbers' anyway and having a demotable record in Makuuchi doesn't mean that you will be demoted. A similar approach is used at the bottom of Juryo. -
Promotion/Demotion and Yusho Talk, Nagoya 2022
Sakura replied to Chartorenji's topic in Honbasho Talk
@Seiyashi. Obviously this is going to be different since COVID-kuyjos, but I'd posit that Onosho and Oho are already safe despite not having a kachi-koshi and that Kagayki needs 3 by the numbers (amongst other similar results). -
That's my thought.
-
It'd be nice if two of us could make it to shore.
-
One thing to mention is that they used a different set of intra-sanyaku matchups this basho for Day 7 than they did for last basho.

Hello, After 5 days I am here to observe. I haven't had time to go through the torikumi in fine detail but I do think @Reonito was hard done by on Day 4 (at least by first pass). I'm not sure I'll have the time to go through it in great detail until I get home since I'm probably going to be doing mandatory housework or having mandatory fun. Since this was mentioned - I only use paper to play.
