    Trump coming to the basho

    You, literally, can't spell "fascist".

    Natsu basho 2019 discussions [SPOILERS]

What a difference one bad call makes. If the judges had gotten Tochinoshin - Asanoyama correct, the leaderboard would be: S1w Tochinoshin 11-3 M8w Asanoyama 11-3 Y1w Kakuryu 10-4 M3w Tamawashi 10-4 Now that would be a Day 15!

    Trivia bits

24 consecutive promotions to start his career. That's got to be a record.

    Natsu basho 2019 discussions [SPOILERS]

Kakuryu v Asanoyama would be for the yusho or, at least, a yusho playoff. (Unless, Asanoyama beats Goeido and Kakuryu loses to Tochinoshin).

For only your 20th post, that was the wisest thing said on this subject.

Too the best of my knowledge, this has never happened before.

    Natsu basho 2019 discussions [SPOILERS]

    Y1w Kakuryu (10-3) should face M8w Asanoyama (11-2) on Day 15. O1e Goeido (9-4) should face O1w Takayasu (8-5). That leaves S1w Tochinoshi (9-4) with a Maegashira on Day 15. Probably M5w Ryuden (8-5).

    Natsu basho 2019 discussions [SPOILERS]

It's not impossible. If Tochinoshin's heel touched down there would be a mark left in the sand. No such mark exists. Therefore, Tochinoshin was not out. Bad call.

    Natsu basho 2019 discussions [SPOILERS]

I would like to see video evidence to confirm Tochinoshin's heel touched down. I haven't seen it yet. There was no hansoku.

    Natsu basho 2019 discussions [SPOILERS]

M8w Asanoyama (11-2) controls his own destiny. If he wins out, he will be 13-2 and win the yusho. Y1w Kakuryu (10-3) also controls his own destiny. If he wins out, he will be 12-3. That wins the yusho, if Asanoyama loses to Goeido. Or forces a playoff, if Asanoyama beats Goeido. (This assumes that Kakuryu will face Asanoyama on Day 15.) There is also the possibility of the yusho winner being 11-4. This could entail a multi way playoff.

    Natsu basho 2019 discussions [SPOILERS]

    There are 6 rikishi with a mathematical chance of winning the yusho. M8w Asanoyama (11-2) v O1e Goeido (9-4) Y1w Kakuryu (10-3) v S1w Tochinoshin (9-4) M3w Tamawashi (9-4) v M15w Kotoeko (8-5) M7w Meisei (9-4) v M4w Abi (8-5)

    Day 14: O1e Goeido (8-4) v M8w Asanoyama (10-2) S1w Tochinoshin (9-3) v Y1w Kakuryu (10-2)

    Natsu basho 2019 discussions [SPOILERS]

Y1w Kakuryu (10-2) has O1w Takayasu (7-5) on Day 13. He could face O1e Goeido (8-4) on Day 14. Then on Day 15, Kakuryu could face the winner of M8w Asanoyama (10-2) v S1w Tochinoshin (9-3). This way, Kakuryu would face both Ozekis and the rikishi with the best chance of winning the yusho.

    Natsu basho 2019 discussions [SPOILERS]

Will M8w Asanoyama (10-1) be brought up to face Yw1 Kakuryu (9-2) and S1w Tochinoshin (9-2) on Days 13 and 14? If this is done, then Kakuryu could face Tochinoshin on Day 15. We shall see.
  15. I was referring to another Kagamio injury.
  16. Ms40e Kagamio (3-2) has gone kyujo. Now what?
  17. It's official. Ozeki Takakeisho is kyujo, again.

    Changes to the Kadoban System?

The problem with this is that a kadoban Ozeki would be demoted with 9 wins. That does not make sense.
  19. Ozeki Takakeisho (3-3-2) is rumored to be withdrawing again. Sekiwake Tochinoshin (7-1) would get the fusen sho.
  20. Sd21w Yamaguchi (0-4), fusen loss on Day 8, has gone kyujo. Is this the end for Hakuho"s deshi? Jd59e Kotomanabe (1-2-1) has returned.
  21. Kotoshogiku will get the fusen sho.

'I love making angels in the sand."
  23. Ozeki Takakeisho is returning for Day 8.
  24. Takakeisho is 3-2-2. Effectively 3-4. He would have to win 5 of his last 8 bouts to achieve kachi-koshi. He has to face Kakuryu, Goeido, Takayasu, Ichinojo and Tochinoshin.

    Takakeisho injury update

Ozeki Takakeisho needs either 8 wins in Nagoya or 10 wins in Aki to keep/regain his rank. He should be good.
