    Haru 2022 Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!)

Nice one by Shodai. Yeees, he's now 7-1 against Kiribayama, he was expected to win that, but it's the way he won. Kiribayama didn't just drop dead.

    Games Bugs

I didn't get ANY mails from ISP and Toto, not even the entry confirmation. No, if those mails are filtered, it's before they can reach my GMX-mail-account.

Must've jinxed Shodai with that. Finally some at least OK sumo from Shodai. There's always hope.

Could be worse. Imagine Shodai going on an accidental....well, bummer.

    Haru 2022 Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!)

Just checked, hit 9, so at least i got that going for me. I would have been ok with 8, if Tsurugisho had made that a clean sweep for the east. But nooo, c-c-c-combobreaker.

    Haru 2022 Discussion Thread (SPOILERS!)

You know you are in trouble, when even Ura starts bossing you around. On the one hand Shodai is Ozeki by accident, should never have been there. On the other hand, i feel so deeply sorry for that poor lad. The sumo we've seen so far, seems nothing really outstanding for me. Since SumoDB is down at the moment, i can't look up, when we had only 2 guys at 4-0 for the last time after day 4.

    Tegata Q

On the original question, although the author probably won't read it: I'd frame them with a acid-free passepartout (prevents print from rubbing off on the glass) behind museum glass (blocks harmful rays), or store them in plastic sleeves for collectible comics in acid-free cartons.

    Tsurugisho's apartment burgled

Yes, but we're talking spoiled football brat riding a Chelsea Tractor opposed to a not that well payed guy riding a bike. If they had raided Hakuho's home, that would be something different, but Tsurugisho's...?

    New Oshiogawa beya

Too bad kaze is now a prefix, not a suffix anymore. We've been waiting für guys named Winkekaze or Miezekaze way too long.

What? How? Longnose rays? White devil farts?

    Hakuho retires

Yes and that will be the heya. Can't find the post right now, but it was fairly recent.

    Mystery solved...

On a side note: LIDL sells macarons at the moment, at least in Germany. Look for em in the specialties section in the fridge. Oishi!

    Hatsu Basho 2022

Disclaimer/introduction for new players The Wall: If a sumotori gets his first makekoshi (MK = losing record) in that respective division, it's called "hitting the wall" (KK = winning record, means missing the wall, which is a good thing). This basho we have Wakamotoharu (brother of Wakatakakage) and Oho in makuuchi. In Juryo we have Asanowaka and newly promoted Shiden, Kitanowaka and Kotoyusho. Shiden was forced to go kyujo (retirement form upcoming or ongoing basho, normally connected to an injury), because he is suspected of illegal gambling, which is one of the many big no-nos in Japan. But he is on the banzuke, so i will include him here, in the unlikely (unlikely, because time's running) event the allegations prove to be untrue and he is allowed to compete. If there is no resolve to this situation before the basho starts, or if the allegations are true, any votes for him are voided. Promotion/demotion/kadoban/intai: An Ozeki winning less then 8 bouts is set on the kadoban status. If he doesn't score 8 wins the following basho, he is demoted to Sekiwake. Both current Ozeki scored 8+ wins last basho, so no kadoban watch. Mitakeumi scored 20 wins over the 2 last basho, so 12 wins place him in the Ozeki promotion zone. 13 wins would be better, because he started from a 9-6, but 14 or even 15 wins (Mitakeumi zensho? You funny man.) would guarantee a promotion. Guess the colour of the giant macaron: One of the prizes for the yusho winner is a giant fake macaron (as placeholder for a load of real, normal sized macarons from one of the best Pâtisseries in Paris). The colour varies and it has become a popular game to guess it.

    Next Ozeki?

Why is everybody insisting on Hoshoryu having to gain weight? No, he does NOT have to gain a single gram. If a dude called Byambadorj is able to acquire the rope (during the Hak-reign) with 133kg distributed over 185cm, then why has Hoshoryu (almost same size and weight) to fatten up? Fat is not everything in sumo, elso Orora would be the GOAT, not Hakuho. Damnit. EDIT: typo
