    Nagoya 2022

I searched only this sub-forum for titles with "spoilers" and 2020/07 with 1292 (52 pages) is the largest among them. You'd have to do a manual search fot more precise results.

    Nagoya 2022

We've seen far worse in the past, it's nothing uncommon. The only difference today, was how it was handled. The last instances i've seen, the sumotori were at a stand-still and the gyoji stopped them in that position to retighten the mawashi himself. "A wish to denude yourself"...sorry, that's wrong not only one way.

Nope, there has to be some "indecent exposure" involved for a DQ.

Maybe Shodai pulls another Haru, where he went 9-6 from 1-4.

Yeah, after his streak of 6 MKs in 20/21 and barely staying in Juryo after a 7-8 at J13, i thought he's toast. But now he's on a 5 KK streak and he looks like this basho will be the 6th.

A good lawyer would rip that argumenation at least 2 new ones. I'd agree for younglings, who never really experienced and can't remember life outside Japan, but that's my only concession. And then there a some undertones of racism.

Not bad so far. more good and/or entertaining bouts that dull ones matta monoii, decision upheld monoii, decision reversed monoii with unjustified torinaoshi, robbing the winner of the original bout only 2 Ozeki upsets upset for Abi The only downside...i have negative self control and munched all my macarons before today

Yeah, i get that, but then why not treat ALL foreigners, who have been in Japan for a specific time like Japanese and open foreigner slots? As i said, Tochi's been here longer, he's been a freakin' Ozeki! You don't have to teach him more Japanese culture. Yet he blocks a foreigner-slot And what about a kabu? Will Origiru be treated as a Japanese there? No, just no. As a shisho with long-time foreigner and a promising foreigner prospect, i'd release the lawyers. Another aspect is, the NSK - at least in my eyes - NEEDs more foreigners to fill up the ranks in the future. Treating foreigners as Japanese after a specific time, whilst retaining the one-foreigner per heya rule, would open up Ozumo for more foreigners, but we wouldn't see the sudden surge, some traditionalist apparently fear.

So, he has lived in Japan for at least 10 years, but isn't a Japanese, right? Treating him as a Japanese sounds a little bit unfair to other beya. Why shouldn't i.e. Kasugano say "wait a minute, Tochi's here since 16+ years, why not treat him as a Japanese"? I think that's doubleplusungood.

*Pfff* buy your own macarons I don't know about LIDL outside Germany, but here it's become my prime source for those delicious treats. Last week they had 2 different offerings at the same time, i was in heaven!

    Kakuryu on Twitter, FB

In Germany it's absolutely normal to have +49/0049 in your signature/on your card. Especially if there is a chance for international contacts. So, to post your country prefix is no unusual sight in the interwebs, just courtesy.

Terunofuji was an a failed ctrl-c/ctrl-v, but the macaron was definitely in my first post. The macaron is always the first section i complete, because of the neat auto-fill Vivaldi offers. I added it now. If you, @Hakuryuho, @Yarimotsu and @Bakayokozuna can not answer it now, because it's closed for you, please post your choice. And by the way, i think it's time for a macaron from the fridge. Toodeloo

Wakamotoharu is only the second rikishi to go 9-6, 9-6, 9-6 after makuuchi promotion and the only to do that after makuuchi debut. http://sumodb.sumogames.de/Query.aspx?show_form=0&n_basho=4&form1_rank=j&form2_rank=m&form2_wins=9&form3_rank=m&form3_wins=9&form4_rank=m&form4_wins=9&columns=4

Preparations of the Y/O Nagoya 2022

That's a great idea. He could start at a Piccolo bottle and slowly move up to the Melchisedech/Midas.
  21. Well, someone has to start it. Watch out for wild spoilers appearing! Terunofuji back on tracks? Or will AAAAAE strike again?

    More Takatoriki nonsense.

Whenever i hear Taka-nonsense, wether from -toriki or -nohana in the past, i see this: And regarding Hoshoryu...of all the active Y/(ex)Os, only Terunofuji and Asanoyama managed 2+ consecutive KK in their sanyaku debut, so he's got that going for him.

    Natsu Basho 2022

Disclaimer/introduction for new players The Wall: If a sumotori gets his first makekoshi (MK = losing record) in that respective division, it's called "hitting the wall" (KK = winning record, means missing the wall, which is a good thing). This basho we have Wakamotoharu (brother of Wakatakakage) makuuchi. In Juryo we have Kitanowaka, Shimazuumi and newly promoted Tochimaru. Promotion/demotion/kadoban/intai: An Ozeki winning less then 8 bouts is set on the kadoban status. If he doesn't score 8 wins the following basho, he is demoted to Sekiwake. Shodai and Takakeisho both miracuosly survived their kadoban last basho. Wakatakakage surprised most of us last basho, with his 13-2 Yusho. This sets him on an Ozeki-run. He started at M1 with a 9-6, followed by said yusho at Sekiwake. With 10 more wins he will reach the (unwritten) goal of 32 wins over 3 basho. 11+ wins would be even better an another Yusho will guarantee promotion to Ozeki, Guess the colour of the giant macaron: One of the prizes for the yusho winner is a giant fake macaron (as placeholder for a load of real, normal sized macarons from one of the best P√Ętisseries in Paris). The colour varies and it has become a popular game to guess it.
