    Nagoya Basho 2022

*Pfff* buy your own macarons I don't know about LIDL outside Germany, but here it's become my prime source for those delicious treats. Last week they had 2 different offerings at the same time, i was in heaven!

    Kakuryu on Twitter, FB

In Germany it's absolutely normal to have +49/0049 in your signature/on your card. Especially if there is a chance for international contacts. So, to post your country prefix is no unusual sight in the interwebs, just courtesy.

    Nagoya Basho 2022

Terunofuji was an a failed ctrl-c/ctrl-v, but the macaron was definitely in my first post. The macaron is always the first section i complete, because of the neat auto-fill Vivaldi offers. I added it now. If you, @Hakuryuho, @Yarimotsu and @Bakayokozuna can not answer it now, because it's closed for you, please post your choice. And by the way, i think it's time for a macaron from the fridge. Toodeloo

Wakamotoharu is only the second rikishi to go 9-6, 9-6, 9-6 after makuuchi promotion and the only to do that after makuuchi debut. http://sumodb.sumogames.de/Query.aspx?show_form=0&n_basho=4&form1_rank=j&form2_rank=m&form2_wins=9&form3_rank=m&form3_wins=9&form4_rank=m&form4_wins=9&columns=4

Preparations of the Y/O Nagoya 2022

That's a great idea. He could start at a Piccolo bottle and slowly move up to the Melchisedech/Midas.
  7. Well, someone has to start it. Watch out for wild spoilers appearing! Terunofuji back on tracks? Or will AAAAAE strike again?

    Banzuke "BS"

From clickbait title to learning something new in 15 minutes. I love sumoforum.

    More Takatoriki nonsense.

Whenever i hear Taka-nonsense, wether from -toriki or -nohana in the past, i see this: And regarding Hoshoryu...of all the active Y/(ex)Os, only Terunofuji and Asanoyama managed 2+ consecutive KK in their sanyaku debut, so he's got that going for him.

    COVID-delayed oyakata danpatsu-shiki

Perspective, not lens. Atamifuji stands a lot closer to the camera.

    Natsu Basho 2022

Disclaimer/introduction for new players The Wall: If a sumotori gets his first makekoshi (MK = losing record) in that respective division, it's called "hitting the wall" (KK = winning record, means missing the wall, which is a good thing). This basho we have Wakamotoharu (brother of Wakatakakage) makuuchi. In Juryo we have Kitanowaka, Shimazuumi and newly promoted Tochimaru. Promotion/demotion/kadoban/intai: An Ozeki winning less then 8 bouts is set on the kadoban status. If he doesn't score 8 wins the following basho, he is demoted to Sekiwake. Shodai and Takakeisho both miracuosly survived their kadoban last basho. Wakatakakage surprised most of us last basho, with his 13-2 Yusho. This sets him on an Ozeki-run. He started at M1 with a 9-6, followed by said yusho at Sekiwake. With 10 more wins he will reach the (unwritten) goal of 32 wins over 3 basho. 11+ wins would be even better an another Yusho will guarantee promotion to Ozeki, Guess the colour of the giant macaron: One of the prizes for the yusho winner is a giant fake macaron (as placeholder for a load of real, normal sized macarons from one of the best P√Ętisseries in Paris). The colour varies and it has become a popular game to guess it.

Congratulations to @Tameiki and thanks for the honor. I'll gambarize not to be the 5th player to lose the rank.

    Natsu Basho 2022

@Seiyashi, @Zannah and @WAKATAKE with 5 points. The macaron was so no tb here. @Seiyashi and @Zannah had Wakamotoharu not hitting the makuuchi wall, @WAKATAKE had Kitanowaka hitting in juryo. Everything else was answered identical, so @WAKATAKE is out. @Seiyashi posted on May 1st, @Zannah May 7th. Higher risk factor rules for @Seiyashi, congratulations!

    Sumo Culture

"Like many other aspects of Japanese culture, the origins of sumo wrestling are steeped in myths and legend. The sport arose during the Heian era and quickly gained popularity. It was also during this period that sumo wrestlers started to develop their large hair for the purpose of covering their stomachs." The only one covering his stomach with hair is Takayasu. But not like the "author" thinks.

It's called Harumafuji-non-henka, because it's no henka. Please rewatch the video. This is a henka:

Nice Harumafuji-NON-henka by Hoshoryu. Although some crybabies beg to differ.

Aaah, the good old trimming the bush to make the tree look taller. Now take that picture an paint some extra nipples on. On a serious note: It's pathetic we almost celebrate a day on which all the Y/Os win. At least some lower rankers try to entertain us.

Uh-oh, Takakeisho and Shodai looking weak. Mitakeumi on the other hand looking strong, taking down 2 in a single bout.

    Haru Basho 2022

Disclaimer/introduction for new players The Wall: If a sumotori gets his first makekoshi (MK = losing record) in that respective division, it's called "hitting the wall" (KK = winning record, means missing the wall, which is a good thing). This basho we have Wakamotoharu (brother of Wakatakakage) and Kotokuzan in makuuchi. In Juryo we have Asanowaka, Kitanowaka and newly promoted Atamifuji and Shimazuumi. Promotion/demotion/kadoban/intai: An Ozeki winning less then 8 bouts is set on the kadoban status. If he doesn't score 8 wins the following basho, he is demoted to Sekiwake. Shodai (3rd time) and Takakeisho (5th time) are kadoban. Mitakeumi on the other hand won last basho in a convincing manner and secured his promotion to Ozeki with 33 wins over the past 3 basho. Guess the colour of the giant macaron: One of the prizes for the yusho winner is a giant fake macaron (as placeholder for a load of real, normal sized macarons from one of the best P√Ętisseries in Paris).
