    Haru 2020 Basho Discussion (SPOILERS)

It's funny watching Akiseyama this basho. He looks pretty limber and is moving around better than usual. Yet he's losing. He actually seems like he does better when he looks tired IMO. Weird.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. If this holds true in the future and isn't just some special accommodation for this very odd basho then surprise fusen matches are going to cease to be much of a help to anyone.

    Rikishi Status - 2020 Haru

Thank you. I thought I was going crazy and just forgot what time it usually came out. I'm wondering if this means they have multiple rikishi pulling out late.

    Ouch!
  8. Miserable Day 2 for me. At least I didn't get kicked from CG. It was worse for being closer than I thought. While watching I thought "Man, this is a loss in Toto for sure" and it was, but only by a half point which somehow made it worse. I thought I had done absolutely terrible. I mean losing is losing but somehow they can seem different day to day.
  9. Not to be mean but I would think they didn't accept because they did not think the pictures would be worth, to them, the cost of what you were asking for. By proper credit I mean that you have to state the origin of what you are editorializing on is and who the copyright belongs too so people do not mistakenly think your using them places it in the public domain. Not credit as in acting as praise instead of payment. As such I will defer to use on this and I never meant to bog down this thread. But I have to say that it stands at odds as to what I routinely see in editorializing in print and the web.
  10. Yes. I wasn't meaning to suggest he is actually working for any media organization. I didn't think he was. By access I mean his being local. attending various events and knowing some people in sumo.
  11. @John Gunning I really do appreciate your thoughtful answers. Thanks.
  12. @John Gunning I understand what you are saying and sympathize with the issues you have had. I wasn't meaning to suggest anyone can use these for any purpose. Certainly not for use in which the image itself is the product or for advertising. You can't use pictures taken by other press even for press purposes either. But these are pictures posting publicly by the sports organization itself. I may be wrong but I think pictures posted by corporations publicly can be used legally by press for editorial purposes which is what Chris is doing here. Now, I understand what you are saying about how the press operates in sumo and in general in Japan. And it may be that Chris does not want to cause issues there in the hopes of greater access himself or to not hurt his own access. But I don't think there would be a legal issue. This is true. But you will also find many, many channels, some very large, making quite a good amount of money in which they post their thoughts, that is editorialize, on something a company has posted. Using screenshots or pictures the whole time. As long as proper credit is given.
  13. The NSK doesn't put out pictures for the press?

    Superbanzuke Site - HELP!!!!

Glad this worked out. Rando is right about the password. You could also tell it's been moved by the IP address. If you knew the old one and checked it now you would see it's changed. Even without that the current IP address is owned by the company which owns Webarena, your new host, so it was changed. The DNS records for your domian now point to the new server. That's what the form did. @Randomitsuki As far as encryption the words explain it. Without is obvious and fine to use in this case considering this a website where the files are available to the public anyway. I seriously doubt anyone is using a packet sniffer on you to grab your sumo files. Although the website may insist on some encryption. Implicit means what it says. Encryption is implicit, that is implied. Taken for granted. Everything you do with the site using FTP will be encrypted. Not really needed in this case but doesn't hurt anything usually. Explicit means you will tell what will and won't be encrypted. In most cases this means just your username and password is encrypted during transfers. That is more than enough for a website. Encryption is done using certificates so that the website and your PC can be sure they are talking to each other and how to decrypt the file. Failing to accept the certificate is like getting the wrong username and password when signing into your email. Refuse and you are locked out for awhile like trying to sign into your email wrong too many times.
  15. I can understand that, but the NSK releases photos for press use. Anyone can use them. Considering the average views for his videos the amount of income from most would barely buy some ramen. I doubt he has much to worry about in that regard.

    Haru 2020 Basho Discussion (SPOILERS)

Interesting take. But I am always amazed at how often his videos are a bit off. I mean how does anyone spend that much time to think of what to say, record it, gather all those pictures and do all that editing AND then not use a single photo from the actual day of the basho the entire video is about. Surreal.

    Superbanzuke Site - HELP!!!!

This is true, but it doesn't need to be. Not that I expect you to do this as part of what is going on but for future reference, you do not need to include the domain of the host site in a link for anything hosted on that site. In other words the link need only be /sb/filename. There is no need to include the http://9998271.com If you leave it out the server will assume you mean the current site and add it automatically. You only need to include the full url for links pointing to a different site. By changing to that if the site ever needs to be moved there will be no issue. You could copy the files over to pepsi.com/sb and it would work fine. If you put all the files in the root directory, that is not in a sb, you wouldn't even need the /sb/ just / then the filename. But then you would need to insure there isn't already an index.html there. In @Pandaazuma case his web site is located at the root. As to editing the files to do this it's daunting but you only have to open each html file once, not manually edit every link. Right now you links in the html look this this: img src = "http://99998271.com/sb/sbtitlenew.gif AND a href="http://99998271.com/sb/intro.html Those should become: img src = "/sb/sbtitlenew.gif AND a href="/sb/intro.html I don't know what software you are using to edit. If you are using a WYSIWYG and not seeing the html then should be a way for you to see and edit the page in HTML. usually it's another tab. If you are editing the html directly, all the better. Once you are at the html editor there should be a way which allows you to Find and Replace just like in document editing. You say Find http://99998271.com/ and Replace with / and choose All Occurrences. That will change every link in that page which has http://99998271.com If you knew all this already, forgive me.

    Superbanzuke Site - HELP!!!!

Sheesh, what a cluster. This is a very simple site. @Pandaazuma When you say move to a new domain are you taking the domain name 99998271.com with you? Or is it a new domain name? Did you just move the files over and nothing else? Assuming you are keeping 99998271.com... Who is your new host? Most web hosts will migrate your site for free. Unless you are using a site, like Yola, which is a build a site. In those cases you have to cut and paste the html of your pages to their pages and adjust links accordingly within the files. I'm assuming you did not use a build a site as you are able to ftp into you current site. The first thing to ask is did you register, that is get, your domain from your current host? Or did you register the domain yourself with a registration provider? Assuming you got it there the domain will need to be transferred to your new host or nothing is ever going to work even if copy the files over and adjust the html as 99998271.com will always point to the old server that hosted your site. Your new host should allow you do do this for free through their interface. Once done the domain 99998271.com will point to the new server you are on. With that you need only preserve the folder structure, such as a folder called "sb" for the Superbazuke site, and everything should work. As to why it's till working now? The person who told you to move hasn't done anything yet. At some point they will delete your files and it will stop working. They could also put what they want there and until your transfer the domain name 99998271.com will show that instead of your site. If 99998271.com is registered to you they could just let it expire in which case you could lose the name altogether. They will probably delete your ability to FTP in too.

    Superbanzuke Site - HELP!!!!

In the meantime you could get the kanji for Settings, Options and Language. Go to the site and then use find in your browser to find those and choose it. When you get to the the Language one if English is offered the word English will be in English in a drop down box. Then save which is almost always the left choice of 2 buttons.

That's what I figured. Get someone who can read Japanese to go in and find Settings or Options. Could be a default language choice of English in there. Did you set this up by phone? You may be able to call their tech support and have them make that change for you.
