    Sumo goods

Wow! I would love to have one of these myself... I understand that we can buy these sheets online, but do you know anything about delivering to Hungary? :D I'm not sure if that's an option. If only I had somebody living in Japan, who could help me get these stamps... Anybody? :)

How about the retired Toyonoshima? There is only one intai on the page at the moment: Sokokurai.

    Sandanme tsukedashi to be established

Hey guys! Where should I start looking for a list of all the rikishi, who started as Sd TD? The NSK webpage says that Asanoyama is the first one, who started in Sd TD and reached Ozeki rank. Wondering who did he beat in the last 4-5 years... ? :) Thanks in advance!

    Latest kabu-babu changes

There's something I don't understand. I've found this article: https://www.nikkansports.com/battle/sumo/news/202004170000296.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=nikkansports_ogp And the title is: 豊ノ島が引退、年寄井筒襲名 36歳関取復帰ならず Deepl gave me this translation: "Toyonoshima retires, assigns his name to Izutsu, but does not return as taker at age 36" I guess "taker" is not quite right, but I can't understand the meaning... Could somebody help me? :) Thanks in advance! Also: I understand there was a vacancy after the last Izutsu oyakata's death in last September, so... Toyonoshima somehow managed to got his hands on this kabu, am I right?

Talk sumo - social discourse for the locked down

I've had a nice (maybe 1 hour long) chat with Mr. RabidJohn this morning, and enjoyed every moment of it! I am hoping that some of you will also find the time to join this Discord server, and I would be glad to hear other voices too! It's not easy for me, because I'm not a native english speaker, but RabidJohn was very kind, never mentioned it, so I was able to find my words... I 'm only writing this for the sake of our international forum members. ;)

Talk sumo - social discourse for the locked down

i've joined this server from Hungary! We might have a little problem with the time diffference though... I'm GTM +1. Usually when do you talk (if there are talks already) ? I'd love to try to make it sometime! (egri.balint)

    Corona and sumo

I'd love to have a proper english translation about this article... I like what google translate can do, but it can't do magic... :D

    Haru 2020 Basho Discussion (SPOILERS)

I saw a tweet from NSK, in which they announce the three sansho-winners... (without any conditions). I might be wrong but haven't they say that they won't give special prizes because of the coronavirus? Anyway, the tweet said: Shukun-sho: Onosho Kanto-sho: Takanosho Gino-sho: Aioyama

    Kensho Haru 2020

I love this topic, and I'd like to use your data to make fancy charts from them to my hungarian sumo fanpage :) Can I have your permission? And also: Where do you find the kensho data? From a public source? Can you share it with me? Maybe it's from the official NSK scorecard pdfs - but can you show me in which column do they show the number of the kensho banners? (I don't speak and can't really read kanji - I started to learn hiragana a while ago, but it's pretty hard for me to understand the system of these symbols...) Thanks in advance!

    Haru 2020 Basho Discussion (SPOILERS)

Enho Mitakeumi maybe I also thought about that.... I guess: to fall on people must be a softer experience than to fall on the hard ground, but then again the thought of crushing someone next to the dohyo might alter the fall itself, so it's harder to anticipate what will happen, they have less control. I sense complete seriousness (just look at any of the Yokozuna dohyo-iri... f.ex. Hak doing it beautifully! - but also on the dohyo!) I guess they try to prepare the same way, but I'm not sure it's possible with these circumstances... Oh yes, the sounds, as they mentioned it before in this thread (and everywhere on Facebook-groups) and also I think the viewer experience is much more concentrated this way too. This week I've watched some bouts from previous tournaments, and I almost felt the crowd disturbing... :D :D

I can't find this news on the NSK official website yet... Could you tell us more about him? What's his shikona? Thanks in advance!

    Haru 2020 Basho Discussion (SPOILERS)

Nobody mentioned Kiribayama vs Tamawashi yet... Both mongolian, a (relative) newcomer and a veteran. I loved that firm push by Kiribayama that made Tamawashi lose! It looked way too easy... :D
