2019 Kyushu Basho Discussion (spoiler alert)

I agree, it seems that one basho he is doing well and the next basho he is not maintaining the level to get enough wins and get these quality wins after he has gotten the win of one basho or double digits win

    Takakeisho injury update

Exactly, If Takakeisho do not rest as needed or maybe surgery, then probably he will be the next person going down and demoted to lower divisions

    Haru Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

Takakeisho has already quality wins. He won against Kakuryu and against Takayasu and these two wins was not easy. If he wins against Ichinojo or Tochinoshin then he has double digit wins. I do not think he has to win against both of them to be promoted

    Haru Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

It does not look good for Mitakeumi. When he continues like this he will be demoted from sanyaku instead of being promoted to sekiwake

    Hatsu Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

I think Takakeisho is Ozeki materrial. As we have seen in the 5 last basho's Takakeisho has had above 10 wins in 4 basho's with 9 wins in the 3rd basho and there is only a few rikishi that has done it as Takakeisho.

    Hatsu Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

Takakeisho is not promoted to Ozeki, in spite of that he has 33 wins in three tournaments. Record in the last three tournaments: September 9-6 November 12-3 January 11-4 This is total of 33 wins in thee consecutive tournaments, but they will still see another tournament. You can't say that 33 wins in three tournaments are a rule for promotion to Ozeki, for then he would be promoted. What is the reason that they are not consistent with the 33 wins?

    Hatsu Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

Agreed. Takakeisho has determination and confidence and this has brought him to that high level. Earlier the reporter said we see a shift that the new guys who have come up in the makuuchi and sanyaku division are young and got some experience. It will be exciting to see not only Sunday but this year it might be possible that Takakeisho will become Ozeki, he has already 33 wins in three consecutive tournaments. Other young rikishi we might also see become Ozeki and maybe this year or next year we might see a new yokozuna.

    Hatsu Basho 2019 Discussion [SPOILERS]

Hakuho was slow in 360 turn and Tamawashi was faster and continued his thrust. Maybe it is pain in Hakuho's toe again, in any case he lost focus a second before he continued and that was the mistake that Hakuho had done and then it was a win for Tamawashi.
