Sports Navi Live in 7 Steps

As I post this, the Aki basho is well into the middle of Jonidan for Day 1 This is a quick step by step to watch the basho live if you reside outside of Japan. I'm sure this has already been posted (Akinomaki?), but here is how to watch it with step by step instructions by using a proxy switcher via Google Chrome and screenshots of what I do. 1. Pick an IP address and port number at this link. It is a list of proxies from Japan which will change your location to a Japanese IP address. The one I chose (copy) is IP ADDRESS: with PORT: 80 You can pick any one on the list, I just like to choose any 'Elite' with a faster 'Response Time' 2. Click on 'Settings' located on the top right corner of the Google Chrome browser 3. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click on to 'Advanced' 4. Scroll to the bottom of this next page and click on 'Open proxy settings' 5. A small window will open where you click on to the button - LAN settings 6. Another smaller window will open as seen below. Here, under where it says Proxy server, check the tiny box so that a green check mark appears and enter your copied IP address as well as it's port number from step 1. Finally, Click the ok button. 7. Open a new tab on Google Chrome to the Sportsnavi Live player website here --> and be sure to pick the correct day from a drop down list on the top right corner It will take a few tries until it connects. I usually end up reloading the page no more than 3 times. A black screen with 'an error occured' will appear with a rotating blue circle around it which is a good sign... Just be patient and wait. Depending on how long or quickly it takes to connect to your chosen Japan proxy you will be able to watch the basho live. Edit: Please note, the connection is not secure when changing proxy server. Be sure to un-check the small box at step 6 afterwards if choosing this method of watching the livestream

    Aminishiki in 2018

Intai, Haru 2018 at rank J4 although after seeing this past basho results I’d be thrilled to see him continue. On the other hand his knees and the Achilles rupture can only worsen if he does.

    Basho Talk Kyushu 2017 (SPOILERS)

A nice ipponzeoi koshinage during Terutsuyoshi vs Takagenji... and some nasty looks thrown Takagenji's way. No bow, had to return to do so, and another death stare. Keep in mind Isegahama as shimpan bucho is witnessing all of this.

Sumo program announcements (pics and vids)

This was blocked on youtube and so here for now: I've been waiting for a better video to pop up to dl with no luck. The above is HD but with audio off sync between around 39 - 46:30 min. Guess I'll throw in Sunday Sports too: Women's Judo Olympic Gold medalist Haruka Tachimoto chats with Kisenosato. edit: I see Akinomaki has already posted the first video link above :) I'm going to try and upload anything that pops up this week. Most of the vids on YT will be unlisted after 24 hours just to avoid video take downs and strikes (I already have one and just being very cautious). Keeping the YT videos unlisted seems to be ok so far. Thanks a bunch, Akinomaki, for posting them.

Sumo program announcements (pics and vids) Just to add a summary, Story of former Amateur Yokozuna Koichi Kato (44) once battling very closely with Takanohana(II) as a child and in junior high school. Kato defeated then Hanada Kouji (Takanohana II) after a considerable winning streak. He did not continue on to professional sumo. Even with his abilities and scouted by many sumo stables, he instead wanted to be a school teacher. At one point Kato thought, "There is no meaning to my existence." After watching that famous playoff of his childhood rival, Takanohana vs Musashimaru in 2001 he was inspired to go back to practicing sumo once more as an amateur with much success. At age 30, Kato won the amateur yokozuna title in 2003 of the JSF All Japan Sumo Championship Taikai .... a great story. He currently is employed as a staff member for a retirement home. May as well add my rip of just Kato
