Overall, another unremarkable basho. Managed a kachi-koshi in SG, Bench, and TTT, but performed notably poor in pre-basho games. -

Here is a quick and dirty update using the last roster posted. I don't have a very sophisticated way to easily get the statistics Panda does unfortunately. I can only pull records from the banzuke page. -

Unremarkable basho overall, I really need to work on my pre-basho games. I think I'll start playing a new pre-basho game next basho, to help my chances of doing well in at least one of them. Pre-Basho Salary Cap - Literally came in dead last 60/60. I learned that I don't necessarily need to pick 10 rikishi, which may help me next basho. Having Kakuryu as my 10x definitely didn't help. Juryo Game - 66/69, always perform very badly in this game. Most of my analysis is of Makuuchi only, meaning I need to broaden it to include Juryo to ever hope to do well here. Roto - 73/86, a surprisingly very bad performance. This is a game I can hope to score masters' points in at least once a year. GTB - 4/11, par for the course Daily Chain - Day 1 failure ISP - 6-9 Bench - 7-8, I'm happy considering half my team was kyujo by the end of the tournament. Hoping to bounce back in November. Toto - 8-7, first time playing this game, so I'm pleased with a kachi-koshi. I went 0-5 to start before I realized I was the only player not picking ~1/3 of the bouts. I went 8-2 subsequent to learning that. Sumo Game - 9-6, I haven't had two back to back make-koshi since 2014* and I'm pleased that trend continued. (*I took a break playing from 2015-2018 ) TTT - 9-6 and a fighting-spirit prize! I finished 7th overall, would have been 3rd if I followed kyujos like the other participants. Very happy here. -

Does anyone have a good link to get information on withdrawals from the basho (English preferred, but I would take a Japanese source)? I was the only person in the top 15 in TTT to not pick the fusen winners/losers. It was because I was unaware of Terunofuji and Chiyotairyu were both pulling out of the basho. If I had access to such news it would definitely improve my performance slightly in games. -

Poor tournament so far, near dead last in all pre-basho games. Head slightly above water in Sumo Game and TTT with 4-3 records. -

Mixed bag of a basho. Good Roto: 2nd place Bench: 10-5, KCC Semi-Finals Meh Juryo Game: 33rd/62 ISP: 7-8 Bad Sumo Game: 6-9 despite my best scoring effort in some time Chain: Out on Day 3 Awful TTT: 2-13 Salary Cap: 56/57, but has not been updated for day 15, so I could easily be last. -

My system doesn't perform quite as well as yours Panda, but I definitely feel your pain in SG. This is my best scoring basho since returning to sumo gaming, and I'm 3-7 against poor opposition scoring. Very unfortunate. What luck I have had in dailies this basho has been spent in Bench. I'm 7-3, still alive in the KCC, despite being very very low in MCP standings. I'm literally in last place in SalaryCap, 55th in Juryo Game, so aside from possible points from Roto, pre-basho games are also poor. -

Pretty poor basho for me as of day 5. Only bright spot is that I'm currently in 13th overall in Roto. Close to .500 in all dailies, except for TTT which I'm 0-5. Lost in Chain on day 3. I'm next to last or close enough in the rest of my pre-basho games. -

Excited to finally be watching sumo again. Here is a brief summary of day 1 for the beya. I didn't have the time to manually complete all the fields that Simon usually does, so I only pulled what I could scrape from the banzuke page. Good luck everyone! -
Welcome, here is a link to the games included in the SB Masters Series. http://99998271.com/sb/intro.html

I've only been playing games on and off for ~3 of the last 7 years, so it's a small sample size. Two lucky bashos this year in Chain heavily tip the scales.

Pre Basho GTB: 6-9 74th, never do well in this game. Can't fight the urge to rank where I want, instead of where I think they will actually be placed. Juryo Game: 61/68, typical dreadful pre-basho performance. Roto: 25/79, started slow but ended up with a respectable placing thanks to Mitakeumi and Aoiyama. SalaryCap: Mid-pack through 14 days, unremarkable. Daily TTT: 8th place, tied with many many people, so I'll get a small amount of Masters points. Sumo Game: 8-7 with a horrendous day 15 (4 points). Chain Gang: Tied for 6th place, so I think I'll manage some Masters points here. ISP: 11-4, not good enough to get any Masters points unfortunately. Bench: 8-7 consecutive losses to end the basho, a but disappointed despite the kachi koshi. -

Joint 6th place in Chain which is nice. I'm between 4-6 and 6-4 in all daily games so nothing exciting to report. Pre-basho games are going poorly. Similar to Panda, I'm just hoping that 8th win comes along in SG and Bench. -

Fairly poor basho performance from myself so far. Hoping to do a bit better going into the weekend. Good: Alive in Chain, doing well in Roto Meh: 3-2 in Bench and TTT, 2-3 in ISP Bad: 1-4 in Sumo Game Ugly: All other pre-basho games I entered -

It's actually one of the only things I somehow consistently do well on. While I may not necessarily pick many winners, I have an edge ordering them I guess. I'm 50/71 (70%) in tie-breakers so far in my career in SG. I think I'll need refine how I pick my bouts after this basho as my overall score is consistently low. Take a deep dive into how my overall picks differ from the top scoring guys and hopefully learn something. -

I feel your pain with the pre-basho games. I'm currently 74/75 in Juryo game, and 83/88 in Roto. Getting my kachi-koshi in SG and ISP takes a little bit of the sting away. -

Slightly embarrassing on my part, no excuse to not fully read the rules of the game. Congrats to Gaijingai

Lottery is an understatement, I miss the bashos of years past where 2-3 bouts felt >85% certain. It's almost impossible to compare ones performance in games to past basho. That being said, I'm happy with my results in daily games this basho, but not necessarily my performance. 4-1 in SG and ISP. I'm still alive in Chain Gain (top 3!). 0-5 in TTT, which is disappointing because that's a game I "somewhat" regularly (2-6 bashos) scored masters points in when I was active back in 2015. Pre-bashos are a disaster as always. -

Doing as well on day 3 as I can reasonable hope. 2-1 in SG, and ISP. Still alive in Chain Gang. TTT isn't going too great, but I'm hoping I can do better the next few days. Pre-basho games are a disaster as always. -

Terrible basho 76/81 in Roto Out on Day 1 in Chaingang 5-10 in Bench 7-8 in SG T47 in ISP (9-6) is my only consolation Almost forgot, 36th in GTB which was cool (9-6) See you all next year! -

Managed to avoid a full collapse in SG somehow. Sitting at 5-6 after a 1-5 start. Bench is unrecoverable at this point at 3-8. ISP: 8-3, tied for 23rd overall. Moved up three positions in Roto to 77th (from 80th). I'll take what I can get, just trying to stay out of last at this point.
