Did he? I thought Kyokutenhou told Hakuhou that he will retire (as anybody else of the inner circle) and that Hakuhou was willing to pay him the respect that he deserves after that long career. Hakuho just gave him the chance to enjoy as much as possible of his last active day and be put into the spotlight as much as possible.

No. Only if the jun-yusho is worth a yusho equivalent. That means it must be obtained through a kettei-sen or the like. Teru is out of the race already. So no yusho equivalent, no zuna run. This is why Kakuryu's jun-yushu was worth a promotion, but other jun-yushos mentioned by ScottyJoyJrBebe were not. If Teru wins it's only for the honour. A statement that says that from now on he's taking over.

Was Ikioi attending the basho? I havn't seen him.
