Pro-tip: if you put a pancake on your head, it becomes an edible hat.

They did. Or maybe I did? It was probably me. Pulling strings. Like a boss.

"Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked."

I also firmly believe it was criminal that the YDC nixed his frog taunt. Decorum, schmorum. Not on this forum!

I've read that oshi-sumo specialists tend to use harite most often, but harite is fairly broadly "a strike with an open hand". So, like, ex-Harumafuji's wicked harite was that knock-out head-tap, while Takakeisho so far mostly is shoving the body. The YDC was pretty consistent whining about Harumafuji and Hakuho's swipes as 'unbecoming' of yokozuna; and in Harumafuji's case, when he acceded to the pressure, I feel they essentially took away one of his best weapons by denying him the slap. Is this likely something that Takakeisho has to look forward to IF he reaches yokozuna? Did any of the past oshi-sumo specialist yokozuna have to endure similar?
-
I think it's probably fair to say that Hakuho won the Heisei era.
-
On the bright side, it's been recently established that a yokozuna can take as much as 7 basho off while healing an arm injury, with occasional middling performances along the way. Olympics, here he comes!

Only if he's buying.

Drinking buddies, and I heard they like karaoke, too.

I wonder if Takakeisho wins in such a way that Tochinoshin lands on Hakuho and forces the yokozuna kyujo if they'll promote him directly to Yokozuna?
-
Yes. And I'll leave it to Onomatsu to explain why.
-
I'm simply not clear on why anyone thinks Ichinojo is even in the yusho race? He's trailing Hakuho by a win. You have to be ahead of Hakuho at this point, to have a genuine chance at a playoff against him.
-
I think it's safe to say that Hakuho benefited from the degeiko at Oguruma beya far more than Takakeishou and Tamawashi did.
-
I'm with McBugger on this. There have been a few tournaments post-dominance where Hakuho has seemingly attempted to win using different kimarite every match...there was the appearance of the nekodamashi...with Harumafuji and Kisenosato gone, there isn't anyone that's remotely close to him in skill. I think he's a competitive guy that is trying to invent artificial competition for himself to keep the sport interesting, mostly so he can make it to his personal goal of the Olympic dohyo-iri.

I think she meant that she thought he meant that he would face him and then he could face him, instead of him and him, and him and him facing off. Huh, he was right. Quote IS my friend.

But these are precisely the matches Goeidou so often loses.
-
So, uh, Goeidou kind of looks decent so far.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THEY BOTH WITH THE YUSHO????!!
-
I cannot quite connect the dots on how the OBSC figures into this, but I'm positive it's the reason for Takayasu's win.

My money is on the horse thingy.

The documentary is really just Hakuho saying, "Hi, I'm Hakuho. I drank a lot of milk then won a lot. Buy Hakuhou brand rice!" and then three hours of him kicking everyone's ass over and over and over. Then next year, Peter Jackson releases the extended edition with 5 hours of Hakuho kicking everyone's ass, with an outtakes section that highlights the 16 times Kise won.

I know Fukushima is not a small prefecture, but I'm always curious about how they are addressing the radioactive fallout when they're handing out these bursaries, and whether heyas would actually want to use the goods they received.
-
Maybe it means that they've only been a temporary inconvenience and therefore the fine is reduced.

He had over a year to slim down.
