As of Nakabi things are a mix of excellent and woeful. Leading Odd Sumo, Rotosumo and probably Oracle. Second in Toto, fourth in Tipspiel. I have chances for smaller change in several other games as well Yutakayama and Endo continue to absolutely destroy the games in which they feature. What the hell is wrong with these two idiots? A serious drop in form here. Generally picking pretty well despite the general chaos on the dohyo. Several other players are in the hunt for the green so I'll need to perform in the second week.

Panda downed Owl for a fourth straight win to go 5-3. Stefan restored parity with another good score. Gary and Ganzo won again to keep their yusho hopes very much alive. In Juryo Unko won to stay one off the yusho pace. Kaito stayed perfect in Makushita. Ama is the only other player in positive territory. Day 8: Rank Record Points AADs Opp AADs 10 8+ 5- TB TB+ Who? I nearly didn't enter this basho but I did in the end and I seem to be doing OK in half the games and absolute shit in the others. Basically, anything with sanyaku bonuses is screwed (Hoshitori, Bingo and PO) as I picked two of the laziest muppets in existence: Endo and Yutakayama. My other picks are fine but they are raining on the parade. Elsewhere I am flying. Could win green mawashi...and I'll need to, given that I am 25 points off the World Championship pace and Kishikaisei has completely blindsided me as a genuine contender for the title. I consider this player the main threat at this stage. Should be a good last two basho of the year. Next year I see Kaito having a real go too. And quite a few other new players are showing real talent. Things needed shaking up!

I am proud of Stefan showing powerful resilience in a difficult and unlucky first sanyaku basho. Hope he makes 8 (but loses to me on day 10!). Kaito keeps winning. Another challenging bout today but he came through. Can he manage a zensho? Very few have. In Makushita, a few have. Never happened in Juryo or Makuuchi. Gary and Ganzo are in the yusho hunt. Apart from that...meh. Day 7: Rank Record Points AADs Opp AADs 10 8+ 5- TB TB+ Who? Takakeisho is particularly vulnerable to agile yotsu opponents, especially ones who are young and have a lot to prove on the dohyo. I knew Kiribayama would probably lose to Hakuho and Asanoyama but Takakeisho is the second-ranked rikishi - it was definitely worth a try in this particular question. Yorikiri would have been my second choice, but I know Takakeisho doesn't easily go out. So I chose 'nage' as Kiribayama has the appropriate sumo style! Almost!!

I am so annoyed about the special question. I had a feeling it would be Takakeisho but I chose the 'nage' option, thinking he would likely get the belt and throw him. Damn!!

Kaito sails on. He was actually pushed a bit today but hasn't met much in the way of opposition so far. Scoring fine though. Otherwise we are fair to middling.
